Cool pics ...

J-14 ... any relation with J-XX ?

Not sure.

Chengdu and Shenyang are both developing their own 5th-gen versions. I think Chengdu is J-14 and Shenyang is J-15. I think the J-14 will be the cheaper version like the F-35 and the J-15 will be the more expensive version like the F-22.

However, I personally prefer Chengdu. The company is much more modern and creative than Shenyang, even with less support from the Chinese military.

However, it's always nice to have multiple concurrent houses. This way you have greater motivation to cooperate and improve.

True. Most foreigners don't understand that China's J-10 and J-11 are in a fierce competitive battle to be the backbone of China's future airforce. Chengdu and Shenyang really hate each other sometimes. But competition is good. If not for J-10's success, Shenyang would never got the motivation to make J-11B.

It's the other way around. Chengdu won the contract from PLAAF for heavy 4th gen fighter while Shenyang is developing alternative 4th gen ship borne fighter.

wtf, CCTV broadcasted it on national TV? I thought those images were fanboy posts made online. So are they prototypes or are they for real?
