This thread mostly direct toward the chinese members on here. When will be the first major conflict in the coming years and who are you guys going against. I would think it will happened sometimes after 2020 and not anytime within the next 5 years. Or there will not be a war at all.

This thread does not meant to diss people. I just to heard opinions from people who consume chinese media and have insider information. I read way too many articles about possible conflicts but I want to know the actual possibilities for those conflict in Asia.

China not going to war anytime soon. they got a good thing going being passive aggressive.

but i been saying they need real world experience not only for a future war but to show off it's weapons systems for the export market.

We are peace loving people. But for some of our troublesome neighbors if they want war they can always fire the first shot than we can justify to annihilate them .

you might be right. I think China knows it's best to build a empire without force. Just look at Germany and Japan today both went on wars on conquest and lost mightley in terms of people, land resources, and pride, but look at them now both are powerhouses economically. both thought they needed to invade countries for living space and resources, but why do they that when you can milk Africa through trade and diplomacy. it's a whole new type of imperialism China is playing it's working.

but the Han Chinese are the war loving people well your ancesters war. the unifaction of China was bloody and the war of kingdoms even bloodier.

but this is a new era of prosperity for the Chinese.

will win without firing a single bullet. can sit back and watch while others fall on their sword.

Post like this is irrelevant to the discussion. And I don't need it. Did the thread say who start the war? I was careful to ask an objective question. Didn't say China is this or that. No this is this sort of stupid replies that get nowhere to the truth. If you want to hold hands and talk about feelings. Go do it somewhere else. Just answer the question.

Now you sound like the Americans. They can't do now wrong, they want to be the good guys. Fine, you are the good guys. You are superheroes. Do you want me to pat you in the back and write a smiley and give you a sticker too. What is this grade school?

At least, this is a proper response.

Han Chinese are the war loving people? No you got it totally wrong, we Han Chinese love those who want to make war with us such as our tough historical adversaries and dominate them one by one, we're patient people and want to learn from our enemies, it took over hundred years for Han wu Di to defeat the Hun (xiognu). We're still in the process to do the same nowaday, we can wait one or two hundred more years to learn skill and technologies from our enemy and "peacfull rise" until we're ready to defeat them.

They are busy making money (& building the country). No time for war.....

Back to topic:
War with Japan - Impossible, Chinese don't want to be responsible to the future generation for destroying Japanese AV industry :kiss3:
War with ASEAN - Impossible, some of the countries have higher chance of self-destruct from internal rather than external issue/conflict.
War with others - well, just ignore them

So basically the probabilities of war is pretty null then.

How fast the cat runs sometimes depends on how fast the rat runs.

To be honest, I am more interesting in Taiwan - China. A war with India, Japan, Vietnam, or etc can be really avoided. But China is pretty dead set on getting Taiwan back. I know they are trying to get Taiwan using other non military means. But I don't know how successful would that be.

.
Taiwan will remain our immediate and long-term potential war flash point. Even that, it is entirely up to Taiwan if they want peaceful reunification or not.
