New Delhi:Chinese helicopter violated the Indian airspace in Uttarakhand on June 12. This incident took place three days after Prime MinisterNarendra Modimet Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on his India visit on June 09 in New Delhi. Even after showing maintaining better relations after Modi led government came to power China is again back to its behaviour of crossing the sanctity of its border with India. However, it is not yet confirmed if the helicopter was China's People's Liberation Army troops or not.
Helicopter entered till Joshimath vicinity
Reportedly Chinese helicopter intruded 30 kilometers into the LAC
(Line of Actual Control) and wandered over Indio-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) post for at least 10 minutes before disappearing behind the mountains. On 12 June the helicopter made its way till Chamoli district`s Joshimath vicinity inside Indian Territory.
30 April also reported similar incident
Similar incident of Chinese incursion into Uttarakhand was also reported on 30 April. Last year, two helicopters of Chinese Army violated the Indian Airspace of Chumaar sector in Ladakh after troops had intruded and taken away an Indian surveillance camera on June 17. Chumar, located 300km from Leh, has always been an area of discomfort for the Chinese troops as this is the only area along the China-India border where they do not have any direct access to the LAC.
However, the present breach questions China`s motive to build strong and stable relations with India with maintaining peace on LAC. China has also been making territorial claims over parts of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.
