Pakistan has one of the largest lignite coal reserves in the world. According to Geological Survey of Pakistan, the total coal reserves of the country stands at approximately 175 billion tons. With Pakistan’s energy crisis increasing with the passage of time, these coal reserves can prove to be a game changer in tackling the country’s energy crisis.

The federal government has reached out to Chinese Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group in this regard. The Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group is globally know for turning coal into liquid. The biggest plant of turning coal into oil has already been installed by the said company in northwestern Chinese region of Ningxia.

According to Adviser to Prime Minister on Petroleum Nadeem Babar, the government held talks with the said company during PM Khan’s recent visit to China. He added that if Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group agrees to install Coal-to-Liquid (CoT) plant in Thar, it will prove to be no less than a game changer.
“We have held preliminary meeting with the management of the said company and more talks will also be held for reaching a win-win agreement and this very important development took place when Prime Minister Imran Khan visited China on October 8 and being a member in his delegation managed to have meeting with top management of the said Chinese company Shenua-Ningxia, which has the expertise to turn coal into liquid (synthetic diesel). And if the said company comes and installs the Coal-to-Liquid (CoT) plant in Thar and starts turning the coal into diesel, it will prove not less than a game changer as there are huge coal deposits in Thar,” Nadeem Babar while talking to a local media outlet stated.

If Done This Will Give Pakistan Energy Independence Once and For All Only Problem Is F-T Process Technologies Do Require Large Amounts Of Water

Energy is getting really expensive and has taken the place of most expensive necessity of a home. Govt needs to bring the cost down. Hope this will help.

Actually, energy is getting cheaper. With rise of renewable source and nuclear, electricity is getting cheaper. The demand for oil has also dropped. That is why oil price keep hovering around $60 plus and never breach $100 mark in the past.

Please also help Pakistan turn corrupt people and their followers to liquid and then to gas so they are never to be seen again. There is no point of such investments when there is no stability.

Thats like asking your neighbors to train your child..
They dont have democracy.Democracy is a double edged sword for a quasi-illiterate society. Its a privilege not every society can adhere to.

One more game changer for Pakistan.
street fouling king of the one liners strikes again @The Eagle

China is our best ally .wish we learn how to hang corrupts from them
remove democracy based on political parties (based on sects, ethnicity)

PPP almost every top person irani type (feku) "shia"
PMLN almost every top leader a Kashmiri (khwaja, bhatt, mir, lone, mian) ruddy revenge of the pandits
PTI, almost every one from KPK, Blochistan + diaspora

P.S
elect leaders for life or until they go senile or are caught doing corruption

Agree. But Nepra has just raised the price Rs 1.5 per unit. We are still burning oil to fulfill the demand of electricity. Unless we shift 80 to 85 percent of our energy demand to other sources domestic user will continue to suffer, particularly in summer.
