China vs. USA

Compare this is like comparing the home I own in Australia, China, Hong Kong and US.

My home in Australia is in a 300 square meters block (roughly 2700 sq ft), purchased for 750,000 AUD (roughly 3 million Yuan) single story, open backyard. It is comfy living in Australia, not the rich people level. (The rich live up north, near Eastwood, North Sydney, Neutral Bay)

My Family Home in China is in the village DongKeng (东坑) in Dongguan Province (东莞市), it's on a 5000 sq ft Block, 3 stories with large drive-in parking, built in 1988 for around 200,000 RMB now worth upward to 6 million Yuan.

My Family Home in Hong Kong is in Tuen Mun, roughly 700 square ft with roof access. Cost roughly 1 million HKD to build back in 1999 and now worth somewhere around 7 million Hong Kong Dollars.

My Home in the US is a 1700 sq. ft condo in downtown Philly. 5th stories building on the 3rd floor. Built in the 1960 and run down like shit, brought it for 200,000USD in 2008 and it probably worth around the same now.

So, which house is the best to live in?

Don't pretend, don't repeat the name of a village in Dongguan.
I have confirmed that you are not Chinese. You don't even understand Chinese. You have a friend or one of your team is from Dongguan, but you are not.
By the way, China does not calculate the area of a house in feet. Unlike India, China is not a British colony.

.
You do know that the Chinese government do and have paid 'influencers', right?

China has no expenditure in this regard.

On the contrary, we all know that the U.S. govt and the CIA control too many NGOs, media, and cyber armies.

lol, whatever you say buddy.

I go full hongkonger on you like 2 posts ago and insulted you mainlander in Chinglish, and you don't even flinch.....lol talk about pretending.

By the way, first of all I never said the house in China was my house, go back and read what I said. And I was referring to the land size, and they uses 尺( which is roughly translated to feet) for land size, I have seen the land deed when my mother pass away, it stated the land is 5000 平方尺, do you want me to send you the deed to that properties if and when I go back to China?

And finally, UK/Commonwealth uses square meters, US uses square ft. Try get some education next time.

Can get a 3 BHK for a grand in Iowa

Wish I could move there
I had my eyes on a 3 bd in downtown Pittsburgh some year ago, it was going for 140,000, when I get my loan in order, someone snatched it, been crying ever since..

Yes I am aware, CCP has its "white monkey" brigade and given low level of propaganda in the video its tailor made of mainland Chinese audience. No American would fall for this crap

Just surprised Americans like OP propagating it .Unless OP is consciously propagating it while living in America
Regarding the highlighted, here is the problem for those who tries to portray the US as somehow a socially terrible place...

Americans are more knowledgeable about the rest of the world than most foreigners think, and am not talking about just getting on the internet. Sure, they usually cite statistics like how many languages foreigners speak or how many Americans own passports and so on to 'prove' their point. But they missed the point completely.

At any time during the yr, there are tens of thousands of Americans all over the world working at all levels of society, from the poorest to the wealthiest, of that country. Not just tourists, but including businessmen, religious missionaries, military, medical, or scientists. They do not need to speak the local language to observe the differences between the US and that country. Personally, I did not have a US passport until I left the USAF and yet I spent several yrs overseas seeing the best and the (near) worst of the human experience. I would rather be poor in the US than anywhere else. Am not talking about being homeless, that is terrible no matter where. But being poor in the US, at least there are opportunities to get out in comparison to many other countries where there are none.

So when you add all these Americans who have been overseas, for weeks or months even yrs, yr after yr, decade after decade, each of them have their slice of knowledge of other countries, Americans are quite knowledgeable of the world. We do not need to have complete knowledge of X country. We just need to know enough. That is why what the Chinese goobermint is doing will fail in terms of propaganda effects. Not 'maybe' fail, but WILL fail. What the Chinese are doing is crap and they know it but propaganda processes demand that they try.

When it comes to propaganda and brainwashing, China is indeed doing a very crappy job, can't even get close to western global propaganda network dominance. Xinjiang, Tibet, human rights, debt trap...western propaganda is indeed pretty impressive, this is something China should really learn from the west.

It's very common in China, it's just a Chinese thing, Chinese like walls

There are plenty of people who put up walls/fences around apartments/homes in the US to keep out non-residents however adding barbed wire (an 1873 American invention BTW) to the top takes things to a whole new level. Obviously there is a problem a simple wall is not solving if it needs to be topped with ugly barbed wire for added deterrence.

it's just a culture thing,

I guess you should be lucky guns aren’t widely available in China or they’d likely be replacing the barbed-wire with recessed auto-turrets..and then claim that as a simple culture thing too and nothing to do with anything else.

Those iron nets should be anti-theft nets.

Why do you think the installation of anti-theft net means bad public security?

if there is no theft then why do you need high walls and barbed wire. It only detracts from the visual appeal and serves no other purpose.

I wonder if these high walls and barbed wire fence is actually meant to keep people in rather than keep criminals out? The things that make me go hmmm...🤔

Also I never really understood why Chinese apartments have a metal outer door?

Interesting in many ways this thread.

The China stuff shown is beautiful. The crooks shown in the US parts seem equally well dressed. Funny most brands sold in the Chinese malls shown seem either American or European. Voyah the exception.

Summary - in China CCP does the stealing , in America people do the petty thievery .

Got it.

There is no war in China. Why do we need an army?

Like the door lock, the anti-theft net is only a facility. It exists to warn rather than prevent.

You may not understand Chinese philosophy. The Chinese believe that the door lock and other facilities are not to prevent theft, but to warn people not to be thieves.

I am saddened to admit that this guy speaks the truth......

Truth is, had he made a critical damning report he would be hauled to jail or deported. China allows only glowing reports, so the vlog means nothing as we expect nothing but praise coming out of there, same as North Korea. If you want to compare USA with others, you can do it with a number of democratic European countries or Japan with lower crime rates than USA.

Because if there wasn’t any problems such a wall wouldn’t even be considered. There are apartment buildings in China that are not surrounded by barbed wire topped walls.

In the case of the place in the video it apparently was considered to be important enough to do.

@Bilal9
Actually maybe this is the UK (but actually South African) guy. Notice how he walks around and says everything is great but doesn’t notice the bars over all the windows..something somebody who grew up in South Africa probably is used to but somebody from the UK not and likely would be raising eyebrows.

He even calls it the upper class neighborhood in the town.

The typical Chinese PDF excuse is that this so kids/babies don’t fall out of windows…oh give me a break..who are you trying to fool?

If it we're true we wouldn't have hundreds of thousands of your compatriots trying desperately to immigrate to the US. Believe what you want, I don't have any interest in debunking CCP sponsored white monkey's.
Or the countless people trying to cross the US border. In fact, I don’t see many people wanting to immigrate to China.

It’s interesting that an American living in China is allowed access to YouTube while it's banned for everyone else. Proof it’s propaganda.

Chinese netizens who know English generally use VPN. GWI alone has 140million VPN users from China.

It is not that there are no immigrants in China. It is just that China has high requirements for the quality of immigrants.

Every foreigner naturalized in China must be personally approved by the Chinese Minister of public security. In 2019, only 3672 people were naturalized in China(In 2019, the Chinese govt received more than 200k naturalization applications), of which 74% had a doctor's degree or above, and the rest were senior athletes or overseas Chinese with special needs.

These people had acquire Chinese nationality in 2019(How many talents of 1.4 billion Indians can meet this standard?):

There is a Chinese proverb "防君子不妨小人". It means that the door lock can not really prevent theft, but it can increase the difficulty of theft and warn people not to become thieves.

The same goes for anti-theft nets. In China, it is not because of poor public security that anti-theft nets are installed, and because anti-theft nets make public security better.

Don’t you think public service announcements could do the same thing instead of people buying doors?

You do it for Covid awareness. How is the possibility of dying not worse than an expensive “don’t be a thief” hint.

Risking a horrible death in the back of a truck or in the middle of the desert you should add…and some of those victims are Chinese.
