China vows to work with Bangladesh to absorb economic shocks

The new Chinese Ambassador, Yao Wen on Sunday said that China is ready to work with Bangladesh to absorb the shock of the recession resulting from the Ukraine war and the Covid pandemic.

Talking to reporters after his meeting with the foreign secretary and the state minister for foreign affairs in the Foreign Ministry, the Chinese ambassador said that this is high time to work together to face the problems resulting from the Ukraine war and Covid pandemic as according to him "these are common problems for both Bangladesh and China."

According to the Chinese envoy, Bangladesh has achieved its goal of closing the economic development gap and has completed its 2021 goals under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership.

"And new goals for the 2041 is set to create Sonar Bangla and recently your prime minister has set goals to create Smart Bangladesh" the envoy added that China and Bangladesh can work together to materialise these objectives and work together to face the common problems.

Responding to whether China will provide foreign currency support or help address the challenges of the energy crisis, the Chinese envoy said that China is ready to work with Bangladesh to face these challenges.

Replying to the question, he said China will do whatever is necessary to resolve the Rohingya crisis.

Lauding Bangladesh for providing shelters to thousands of Rangers, the Chinese envoy said that China took on the role of facilitator between the two countries, given that Bangladesh and Mahmud are friends of China.

‘I feel confident that during my tenure we can work together to fulfil our dreams to create a better future for both nations’ the Chinese envoy added.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said, Bangladesh will seek Chinese help to defuse tension along the Bangladesh Myanmar border.

Infighting between two Myanmar warring groups caused tension along the border and on Saturday a Bangladeshi was killed due to the firing from the other side of the border.

"We will seek Chinese assistance to defuse tension along the Myanmar border, as China has a very good influence over the present Myanmar government," foreign minister told reporters in the Foreign Ministry.

The foreign minister mentioned that the government is in touch with the Myanmar government over the issue. ‘We have told them to take necessary steps and still we are also working on it" he informed

According to reports, clashes between two Myanmar groups caused panic among the Bangladeshis living near the border.

"But the problem is that the man government does not have a very strong hold over these areas" the minister noted.

Now it should be clear to everyone that BD follows its own independent foreign policy and does not follow Indian diktats. If Chinese can mediate on your behalf on your border issues, it will be a good for the entire region. Rohingyas are being targeted and no one is talking about it. Myanmar junta has to be tamed and sanctioned.

No use how much evidence there is as there is a whole mass of paranoid BD'shis who think that India is some kind of master and/or threat to BD.

Is it because BD is so vulnerable to climate change and the disasters it brings. We all saw that in Pakistan with its floods.
India on its part plays big brother to small regional countries and only seeks peace ✌️.

No BD is not at all vulnerable to climate change.

In fact it is increasing its land area by 20 square kms every year and it is working with Netherlands to build sea defences to minimise sea level rises up to 2100.

All they see is much larger India and a Hindu nation and all of a sudden India is some kind of threat.

India and BD have a fanstastic relationship that covers both security and economics. India has no interest in hurting BD in any way and actually needs a stable and prosperous BD for it's own interests.

Do you think this perception increased after Modi came to power?

Think it would have been almost the same even with Congress in power.

Modi's rhetoric and past with Gujarat riots has not helped for sure.

Anyway it does not matter as with each passing year these voices are being sidelined and once BD population sees 500MW of cheap and clean hydroelectric power flowing from Nepal through India and into BD from 2026, the BD population will see a huge symbol of how BD-India co-operation is directly benefitting BD.

China vows to work with Bangladesh to absorb economic shocks
What Economic Shocks you are sending when you think BD will become a trillion-dollar economy? Better you find out news that say BD will soon export industrial knowhow to China.

. .
How well is China sharing the economic shocks with their higher than mountain, sweeter than honey friendship?

We muslims should erase all Bhindian culture

Replace Saris with Salwars

Replace Bengali with Urdu

Replace Hilsa with Beef

I guess the *** whooping of 1971 did left your kind with a deep mental trauma.

Unfortunately some people only think through a religious lens.

Others think through a humanity lens and that of mutual benefits.
