China Thailand joint military exercise

Marine forces of China and Thailand will hold a joint military training in South China's Guangdong province from May 9 to 29 the Ministry of National Defense said Tuesday.

The training, codenamed Blue Commando-2012, will be conducted in Zhanjiang and Shanwei of the province in line with an agreement reached by the two countries' navies, according to the ministry's information office.

The training will be the second of its kind by the two navies' marine forces since 2010, and it will feature anti-terrorism and increase mutual understanding of the two forces.

Lets hope this will further support and promote the Kra Canal project again, in tight cooperation with China, very tight if possible, up to potential agreement on military bases (possibly even necessary in face of terrorist threats) if China ever intends to enhance its arms reach. Damn Tsunami killed the project again but its simply too important and should have at best started half a decade ago.

China also happens to be the best partner when it comes to eco terrorist preventing us to reach Saturn if it would help them keep a worm alive.

I didn't hear the Kra Canal project for so many years, is it up for talks again? It might become economical viable with modern technologies.

Kra Canal project is technically feasible and financially benefitial to Thailand. The idea appears to have died along with the removal of Thaksin government that made the proposal in the first place. Are you aware of any new delopment?
