"China Supply Ship" Hongze Lake was honorably retired after serving for 38 years

Xinhua News Agency, Qingdao, September 8 (Reporter Wang Dongming, Wu Dengfeng) With a long whistle, the flag of the Navy's comprehensive supply ship Hongze Lake ship was slowly lowered on the 6th. This ship is known as the China's first large-scale ocean-going integrated supply ship, After 38 years of service，it was retired in a military port in Qingdao.
The Hongze Lake ship was launched on September 6, 1979. It was listed in the Navy in 1980. It was named the "Taicang" ship for the first time. It was later renamed as Taicang Ship. The ship's number was changed three times after "X575", "Beiyun 575" and "575". In September 2002, it was renamed Hongze Lake Ship, with the number 881.
The total length of the Hongze Lake ship is 168.2 meters, the width is 21.8 meters, the height is 36.2 meters, and the maximum displacement is 22,000 tons. It is mainly responsible for replenishing fuel, barreled oil and fresh water, soft water and parts along with the protection of the long-distance formation. The task of refrigerating food is a veritable “ocean floating base”.
As a witness of history, the birth of the Hongze Lake ship filled the blank of the naval equipment, opened the curtain of the navy from shallow water to deep blue, and also sent a large number of key talents to the new supply ships after it, hence the reputation China first supply ship."
In 2002, the Hongze Lake ship sailed over 33,000 nautical miles in 132 days, and completed the first round of the Navy's global voyage. "When I saw it at first sight, it felt big." With all the disappointment, Liu Chunlong, the third captain of the Hongze Lake ship, said emotionally, "It completed its historical mission and retired. Behind the glory of the Hongze Lake ship is the continuous development and growth of the strong military force: In 2013, in this combat support ship detachment, a new generation of large-scale ocean-going integrated supply ship Taihu ships joined the battle sequence; in 2015, the improved version of the Taihu ship The Dongping Lake ship was commissioned; in 2017, the new integrated supply ship Hulun Lake ship entered the military port again... The supply ship was updated on behalf of the generation, laying a more solid equipment foundation for the navy to go deep blue.
