Really ?What would be your response if we mention your nation like that after a terrorist attack ?
When I did that your mod warned me .Am I right? @waz.
On topic :SL is an independent country .But they also need to respect bilateral agreements .In here it seems they did that .Informing India before allowing a Chinese ship in their port .
I was not aware that US/UK are our potential adversaries with whom we have fought a war and still have border disputes...also given US/UK are all weather friends of our arch rival Pakistan i am sure India should be concerned...Why should india be concerned?? U.S/U.K naval warships regularly/constantly patrol the Indian Ocean without any concerns from India. In fact we even have a military base there for patrols. So i don't see why there should be any concern from India if a Chinese warships simply pays a visit to Sri Lanka, Many countries in the world do that, even small developing countries do that regularly.
So no need for India to be worried IMO.
Actually our look east policy is in direct response to string of pearls..however the catch is we have pretty decent relations with Sri Lanka however there are lot of issues in South China sea with lot of neighbors getting uneasy....May be the Chinese should take it in the right spirit too when they see an Indian Navy Ship in Vietnam or their immediate neighborhood!! Free Ocean theory should not be subject to one sidedeness. If PLAN plays in IOR, INS is right there docked in SCS.
We should admit that Pakistan's influence is decreasing. Sri Lanka already stopped on arrival visas for Pakistanis. IT was among the few nations that had such an arrangement. Recently f16's sale was blocked by US congress. Pakistan is on the verge of being completely isolated. How the situation plays out in sri lanka and whether it buys our jf17's will be a test of Pakistan's (should I say decreasing?) power.I wish thunder lands in srilanka despite indian concerns
