China Sentences 4 Mekong Smugglers to Death

BEIJING November 6, 2012 (AP)
A Chinese court sentenced four members of a Myanmar drug gang to death Tuesday for kidnapping and killing 13 Chinese sailors last year on the Mekong River, state media said.

China, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand began joint Mekong River patrols in December after the sailors were killed along a section of the river flowing through the Golden Triangle region, which is notorious for drug traffickers and extortion gangs.

Gang leader Naw Kham was extradited from Laos by Chinese authorities in May. He and three members of his gang were sentenced to death by the People's Intermediate Court in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.

Xinhua said another gang member was given a suspended death sentence and one was sentenced to eight years in prison.

All six defendants were charged with intentional homicide, drug trafficking, kidnapping and ship hijacking. All told the court they would appeal, Xinhua reported.

Sailors shipping Chinese produce and manufactured goods down the Mekong have long complained of armed gangs that loot their boats or demand cash. Little action was taken to protect them until the Oct. 5, 2011, attack near the Thai-Myanmar border, which sparked Chinese demands for a thorough investigation.

This Burmese "Drug Lord" Naw Kham is going to meet a very unpleasant end.

It was his bad luck that he was extradited to China for trial. Thanks for our friends in SE Asia for extraditing him.

天理循环。

These Drug Lords think they can escape the consequences, we should catch the rest of them as well. And give them some Justice too.

天理循环
While it is not exactly the same, almost similar to the concept of karma.

While it is not exactly the same, almost similar to the concept of karma.

I think all civilizations have these concepts.

For example, "己所不欲,勿施于人" is known elsewhere as the "Golden Rule", and almost all civilizations have their own individual concept of this.

Though it could be argued that Confucius said it first, other countries developed this concept entirely on their own.

And I don't think "天理循环" is exactly the same as Karma, but the concept is similar.

Hard and fast!

No nonsense
No dragging on

Well done!

China executes foreign killers of Mekong fishermen

Four foreign men have been executed in China for the murder of 13 Chinese fishermen on the Mekong river in 2011, state media report.

The men were put to death by lethal injection in Kunming, Yunnan province.

CCTV News broadcast live footage of the men being taken from their cells to the execution site, though it did not show the moment of death.

Many social media users in China have reacted angrily, condemning the broadcast as insensitive.

Among the prisoners was Naw Kham, a Burmese man thought to have been one of the most powerful warlords in the Golden Triangle of Thailand, Laos and Burma.

The fishermen were found dead inside two Chinese cargo ships in October 2011 on the Thai side of the river.

---------------

Maybe these Southeast Asian Drug lords will think twice before shooting at fishing boats on the Mekong River. Like this Burmese Drug Lord Naw Kham.

The SE Asian Governments will extradite them back to us, just like they did with this guy above. Regardless of nationality.

China kills foreigners who killed their fisherman. Very good.
Similarly, now lets see if India does the same with those two Italians who killed kerala fisherman!

Madam Sonia would not allow that. Italy is in her blood. Pizza, pasta eaters are brothers to each other.

It is difficult to extradite foreign nationals, and even more difficult to execute them.

But it is important to do so, because it is wrong to give them less punishment based on their passport.

A while back we executed a British National for smuggling a large amount of drugs. The British Prime Minister even asked China several times to stop the execution but we did it anyway.

Well done!

On a side note, somehow the western media always has something negative to say about China these days. I'm not hyping it so China must be careful.
