The Type 054A also joins this standoff. :coffee:

. . . . .
We can summon the Type 052D to the South China Sea as well.

I don't know if that is even necessary against the Vietnamese navy, seems like overkill. :P

China wants to start a war or what ?

No.

If we wanted to start a war, then war would already have been started.

These are just in case Vietnam gets the idea of trying to get into a Naval conflict with us.

Not an overkill at all, since the USN often deploys their supercarrier strike groups to intimidate those small countries.

Not only the Type 054A, but the more important thing is that there is an unknown number of SSNs and AIP subs trying to stalk their vessels and to prepare to make an ambush attack when it is necessary.

Vietnam is the obvious first target for Chinese neo-nationalists. They will test their new toys on a nation with no strong allies before one of the real prizes.

No, if we wanted a fight we would have started one already.

Plus, we still do need at least 10-20 more years to properly build up our national strength.

The Philippines has a mutual defence treaty with America right?

But we still took the Scarborough shoal in 2012. Without bloodshed, and without a war.

The onus for starting a war will not be on us, we are the ones gaining the most from the status quo. However if Vietnam or the Philippines decide to start a Naval conflict against us, we will have the right to defend ourselves. If we are not the aggressors (but rather the defenders), no one will even be able to make a case to sanction us.

We just want to show the little brother the price to pay for fighting the big brother. You know in family, the big brother will always take the responsibility to guide the little brother and when the little brother don't listen, he receives a lesson.

Our Navy and Airforce can launch a combine 300 anti-ship missiles in one salvo from shore, air, sub surface, surface and I don't even count an extra 80 Kh-29TE missiles that can be launched from the Su-22s either. Try to sink one of our coast guard patrol ships and your entire South Sea Fleet will become submarines.

All your bases will be destroyed by the Type 093B's LACMs.

Since our nuclear subs are already stalking you in the SCS.

Don't worry about our bases. We have built "reserve" run ways for take off and landing beside the 60+ mainbases

And how many missiles do you think we have?

We have the world's largest inventory of non-nuclear ballistic missiles, as well as our cruise missiles and rocket artillery.

Which will take out every single airfield you have, with plenty to spare.

As for your Navy, it is vastly outnumbered by even our submarine force alone.

60 mainbases?

Good, next year we will have total four Type 052D DDGs. So with totally 256 cruise missiles, let's see how many you could withstand. :coffee:
