China says it supports Russia deploying forces to Kazakhstan to quell unrest

SHANGHAI: China supports Russian-led forces deployed to Kazakhstan to help quell unrest, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov late on Monday (Jan 10).

In a phone call held between the two parties and summarised by Chinese state media, Wang said that China supports the Kazakhstan president’s assessment that the source of the unrest was terrorist activity.

Wang added that China and Russia should "oppose external forces interfering with the internal affairs of central Asian countries", and prevent "colour revolutions" and the "three evil forces" from causing chaos, the readout stated.

China defines the "three evil forces" as religious extremism, territorial secessionism and violent terrorism and has described them as the cause behind the instability in Xinjiang province.

Government buildings in Kazakhstan were briefly captured or torched in several cities last week as initially peaceful protests against fuel price increases turned violent. Troops were ordered to shoot to kill to put down a countrywide uprising.

Authorities have blamed the violence on "extremists", including foreign-trained militants.

Authorities also asked a Russian-led military bloc to send in troops, who the government says have been deployed to guard strategic sites.

China's President Xi Jinping on Friday told Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that China resolutely opposed any force destabilising Kazakhstan, Chinese state television said.

Halal interference in the affairs of a sovereign nation.

CSTO intervened. Invited by Kazakhstan's legitimate government. China is not in the CSTO.
I just remember some of our Chinese brothers being triggered when the Solomon Islands did the same when inviting Australian troops.

They switched diplomatic relationship from Taiwan in 2020, I think. Then some riots happened in a certain neighbourhood. China suspected DPP-US clandestine intervention. The government of Solomon Islands also claimed that.

Kazakhstan is different. Kazakhstan invited an organization to which it also belonged. Russia, as well as Belarussia or Armenia, was obliged to send peace forces.

How is it different, foreign troops putting down a domestic uprising?

CSTO is not a foreign entity since Kazakhstan itself a member and itself invited CSTO forces composed of multiple regional countries.

I do not think the US or Australia would send troops to prevent riots in SI. The riots were anti-China. China accused US and some other parties with illegal clandestine intervention in another country's affairs.

Neither Russia nor China has anything to do with the riots in Kazakhstan. They still object interventionism.

1, China's foreign policy is "non-interference in each other's internal affairs", not "non-interference in other's internal affairs." This means that when a country interferes in China's internal affairs, China will also interfere in the country's internal affairs. The Solomon islands concern the China Taiwan issue.

2, China only expressed support for Russia's action, but China did not participate in it. It's like XiJiining give a thumb-up in a tweet of trump. You see, China also expressed support for India's fight against the covid epidemic, that also does not mean that China is interfering in India's internal affairs.

Russia-led bloc troops to leave Kazakhstan in 12 days
JANUARY 11, 2022 07:46

The Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) military bloc will start withdrawing its troops from Kazakhstan in two days' time, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told parliament on Tuesday.

The troops will depart the Central Asian nation completely over a period of 10 days, he said.

.............

Theorically the 4k CSTO development were never utilized because the Kazakh security forces gained control of the situation besides the protest just fizzled out by itself after 48 hours. Also these 4k CSTO were not deployed to engage protestors but to guard stragetic facilities incase things had erupted which didn't happen. Kazakhstan has approx. 600.000-1.000.000 army, paramilitary and police forces combined if there was to happen a massive civil war or a massive outside attack was to occur they can request atleast 100.000 man or more and I mean if they couldn't overcome that foe themselves they would request atleast 100k from CSTO not 4k....

Stop pretending to be an idiot who doesn't understand what's going on, this was not an uprising, this was a failed CIA orchestrated colour revolution and so Russia came to defend it's ally against the CIA and China expressed it's support for it's allies, that is all there is to it.

It is similar to the EU police assisting the Spanish government in arresting the leaders of the Catalan independence movement in 2017.

Yes Spain was wrong to stop the will of the Catalonian people to gain independence.

So if it’s an uprising against a pro Russia or pro China dictator it’s a CIA colour revolution but if it’s against a pro western dictator it’s a democratic referendum? Got it, thanks!

Yes that what these U.S. state department funded and organized terrorist activities are. Every single of these fake "activist" and "journalists" advocating unrest and spreading disinformation, that U.S. regime propaganda mouthpieces are currently crying tears about, is payrolled by the U.S. terror regime, some of them squatting in Europe and not even in Kazakhstan.

We get that you are trying to play dumb about this, but don't expect others to play along.
