Thanks, Bob. Looks like its hitting Northern Panay, Romblon and Southern Luzon. Sending prayers and well wishes to our friends in the Philippines.

He he he, there's quite a few Chinese-Filipinos in Cebu Province. I had the pleasure of getting to know many of them in my many trips there. Its interesting to see that most Filipinos of Chinese ancestry have Hakka or Cantonese background. I also find the union of Chinese and Filipino beauty rather captivating. :)

An example of Chinese-Filipino Beauty ;)

Can't say about that as I am more of a "2D-person" - I am pretty sure you may have heard in Japan about something of preferring 2D over "3D" (or in other words, real-life women)

Anyways, the threat of the tropical storm (it is no longer a typhoon) is the amount of rainfall as Manila and many places here in the Philippines tend to "sink."

Political not sincerity is no help just pogi points the government may thank you but the people dont but the worse is over and we are still here once again the Philippines along with our friends and allies pull through

. .
Yes thats why voice out troll but your fellow trolls do not understand they here from propaganda nothing more

.
But why?

Not all Filipinos are close-minded, ignorant and illogical. That's only the overly-nationalistic ones.

All aid in times of disaster is "propaganda" to some extent. When Iran suffered that earthquake, American aid to Iran was very much politicized. Nevertheless, people are suffering and now's not the time to turn down supplies and help because someone's too proud or whatever. As an ethnic Chinese person, I have nothing personal against our Filipino bros despite the fact that everyone on PDF, Chinese and Filipinos talk smack to one another.

I'm glad the Chinese government helped out and I hope the Filipino government accepts it for what it is. The Filipinos are very resilient and I'm sure they'll rebuild and be back, better than ever.

ALOT. Most Japanese-Chinese are Southern Chinese. Its only recently that there are Mandarin speakers immigrating to the country as international students. I wonder why tho. I think Cantonese are very apt to travel abroad eh? They succeed really well abroad too, i notice. In Southeast Asia the Southern Chinese (Teowchew, Hakka, Cantonese) are the elites there. I think in the West too, the pathfinders were always the Southern Chinese. Interesting right?

@Chinese-Dragon , do you know the reasons for this? Do they mention anything in Chinese history about this?

Here in NYC I always came across Cantonese speakers, two of my closest friends in jr and high school were Cantonese speaking Chinese. In fact I always assumed Cantonese was the language of the Chinese in general because of the large number of Cantonese speakers I had come across and only learned later that it is actually a really small group compared to Mandarin speakers.

That's because Southern Chinese are the ones who migrated to EU/US/Canada/South America earlier like many decades ago still it's a surprise you thought Cantonese is the main language inside China lol. But Cantonese is only one of the many dialects inside China. Guangdong is actually a very small province compared to the rest of Mainland, even then there are plenty dialects inside Guangdong.

guangdong is richest province in China and the province with most popular Chinese rural immigrant destination. It contributed most to China GPD. It's not surprisely their influence can be felt in certain area.
