I dislike a far away nation 'heavily' influencing other parts of the world. Especially when controlled by a small cancer, but that's about another region in the world (off topic). The US used to be a great nation which I respected a lot. Now it's a big bully clinging to yesterday and trying to stop tomorrow from coming. Nothing personal.

Having a constructive discussion with China in SCS matter is always welcome. China, Malaysia and other claimant in SCS should take their time to sit and talk together building understanding and resolve any differences according to COC. Indonesia in this regard doesn't have any claim on Spratly, and any effort to pull Indonesia only show ignorance about SCS and Indonesia's position regarding this issue.

We do have small issue regarding claim on part of Natuna EEZ with Malaysia and China with their 9 dash line. To address this issue, we just strengthen our patrol on Natuna water and capture/seize any intruding vessels (mostly fishermen) and blow up their boat. Problem solved.

China is influencing IT'S neighbourhood, which is natural. Americans going: "China with it's 1.3 billion people should NOT have ANY influence in Laos with it's 6 million people, that's imperialism!!" That's nonsense. The US coming in and making defence pacts with all those nations against China, while China hasn't at all been aggressive since about 1970, now that's wrong. Trying to contain a country based on the fears of it's smaller neighbours. Anyway, I don't see it working. In the end, China is the biggest trading nation in Asia, and one by one they'll realise this divide and conquer thing isn't working out for them.

True, China never state directly that they claim Natuna's EEZ, but they had drawn 9 dash line that nudge Natuna's EEZ. Indonesia's official position right now is that Indonesia doesn't recognize 9 dash line, it doesn't exist.

We understand that China, My, Vn & Ph have overlapping claim on SCS, and we hope they can settle this maritime border issue peacefully. Just like how Indonesia had settled our maritime border with Ph, Sg, My(partially), & Vn.
