China Is Still A 'Poor' Country

It ain't just 'some', buddy. Nevertheless, as long as there are 'some', that is enough. You should have realized that. Grow up and let that issue go.
Nonsense, debate with "FACTS" not "TRASH" old man, beat this or else shut your hole please, this ain't your territory, don't pretended to be the authority, you don't impress me as always
” India alone has an estimated 600 million people defecating openly, according to a study by the United Nations, accounting for more open defecation than any other country in the world."

Buddy, you just make the solo Superpower of USA as an equal of India, because there are "some" Americans also practice "open defecation", and that's "enough".

Who told you that India is a import dependent country? If India were import dependent, the prices in India should be have higher and not lower because India would import things in dollars, hence the prices it sets in the domestic market should also be higher...much higher than what is prevalent in India . For your information, India is self sufficient in major essential commodities except oil. In fact India is one of the largest producers of essential commodities in the world.
without imported capital goods, electronics, power generators, data processing equipment, toys and family appliances, India will be right next to stone age. Indian commodities? lol no thanks, I rarerly use any India made stuff in India, as they are toxic, bad quality and expensive (funny isnt it).

India is self sufficient with grains, curries and veges``that is hardly considered as "purchasing power", as these are the very basic neccesities. again, I have been to India many times, your ignorant and delusional 'opinion' doesnt work on me

.
Well China is richer than many countries in the world.

lol, Indians. India is much poorer than China.

your worse than us, theres something to ponder about, cheerleaders will be cheerleaders!

.
Should I hear from people who don't even have basis human rights? You are glorified slaves. As on toilets, China is not any better...there is a large part of China that is shithole.

When an Indian is lecturing Chinese about basic human rights, I am kind of puzzled.

Are you talking the human rights of those working 10 hours but getting paid less than a BigMac, or your are talking about the human rights of those under 5 dying at the rate of 2 per minute?

Four decades of strong economic growth has helped China become the world's second largest economy. But things aren't as good as often described in social media. China is still a "poor" country, at least according to a number of broadly used measures of the quantity and quality of life, and potential to make the Great Leap Forward to the status of a developed country.

Take China's per capital GDP, for example. It stood at U.S.$6894.50 in 2016 -- 55% below the world's average, according to Tradingeconomics.com.

Still, China's per capita GDP is close to 600% above its all time low of 132 USD in 1962. This means that the welfare of the average Chinese citizen is up enormously from the 1962 low. And part of the credit should go to the open minded leadership of the country over the last four decades.

China’s Key Metrics

Metric Value
Per Capita GDP $6984*
Per Capita GDP PPP 14401*
GDP Annual Growth Rate 6.9%
Unemployment Rate 3.95%
*2016

That certainly doesn't feel like being poor any longer. Especially for those who live in the Southeast regions and benefited the most from the openness of China economy.

Then there's corruption, where China ranks near other poor countries like India and Pakistan, and nowhere near rich countries like the U.S.

Corruption leads to cronyism that kills competition, innovation, and enriches the economic elites at the expense of the masses. The fact that this is certainly not good for China’s future growth is no further away than the performance of other emerging market economies like Argentina, which has been bouncing back and forth between the “emerging” and the “frontier” status, never managing to join the ranks of developed nations.

Country Corruption Index in 2010 Corruption Index in 2015
China 78/168 83/168
Hong Kong 13 17
Pakistan 143 117
India 87 76
Finland 4 2
USA 22 16

Then there's pollution.China is the world’s top producer of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas - a status that isn’t expected to change any time soon, as China’s government is part of the problem rather than the solution.

Pollution undermines the quality of everyday life and the value of the country’s assets, like real estate. If pollution continues at the same rate in China, that may be worthless one day. Younger generations will opt to leave the country rather than move into polluted cities, depressing demand for real estate, aggravating the problem of excess capacity in the sector, and tapering economic growth.

The bottom line: China has come long way from an underdeveloped into an emerging economy, beating Japan to become the world’s second largest economy. But it has long way to go—both in terms of quantity and quality of life—before it makes the Great Leap Forward to take its place as one of the rich countries of the world.

you are talking about India,

but in China, your government Killing People who support Democratic China,:whistle::whistle::whistle:

Killing people because of ideological differences is bad but common even in democratic countries.

But what is the reason to kill little kids every few minute by either poor health care or starvation or both in India? Millions of them every year!

India is not developed country and has some Problem,

But not killing people who support democracy,

I would stop that if I were you. There are plenty of stories and pictures on how a Chinese will simply drop trou and shit in the middle of the sidewalk.
Difference is you are talking about plenty of people in an emergency, like diarrhea or stomachache that can also happen in the US.
Whereas we are talking about hundreds of millions, or 600 million, that shit and urine everywhere openly as a daily routine in India.
Do you have problem with numbers ?

What a retarded answer, so typical Indian. Killing little kids that have done nothing wrong but being born in the wrong country is just "dome problems". Just disgusting!

BTW, stop abusing the word democracy as you know squat about the meaning of it.
