Trade volumes between China and Indonesia have been on the rise. In 2012, bilateral trade reached 66.2 billion US dollars. That’s a 9.4-percent rise compared with the same period the previous year.

The latest figure released by Indonesia’s Statistic Bureau showed that in 2012, the country exported over 11 billion US dollars of non-oil and gas products to China. That is more than 13-percent of Indonesia’s total export value. Imports from China stood at more than 17 billion US dollars, which is over 20-percent of import values of Indonesia in non-oil and gas products.

Also in 2012, China’s new investments in Indonesia reached 220 million US dollars, up 29 percent from 2011. China is now Indonesia’s second largest trade partner, and its largest market for non-oil and gas products exports. Bilateral trade volume is expected to reach 80 billion US dollars by 2015.

With the China-ASEAN FTA being implemented, the volume of the export-import will hopely be larger.

Yeah but still imbalance, Indonesia suffer the most largest deficit when trading with the Chinese. Need more efforts to fix it.

Majority of the countries trading with China suffer from trade deficit. It is the fact that China is the world's leading manufacturer that makes trade such a one way street.
