What's new

China invented new bus system, to solve busy traffic problem

I've seen this a long time ago. It's more like a tram than a bus. Will they implement this project any time soon?

I guess China could use 3D printers to print themselves at destination, and DELETE the originals as a new method of transportation.

The above vid and info are an update
The concept has been around for many years
It is called the "straddling" or "elevated" bus which appeared on the net some 4-5 years ago

I saw this video almost like 3-4 years ago and was very much impressed about the idea of this new transportation system. This can revolutionize the way public transport industry around the world especially congested area where space is non expandable.

LOL a Vietnamese go creative. That's a new one. Unfortunately the sh!t you laid here is hardly original, it's called sour grapes;)

Bad idea. Car drivers will feel pressure when seeing this giant thing coming toward them. Basically it's another form of light rail. Why not directly build a light rail?

Imagine an accident when it gets hit by a car, say near its wheel base or cars in a pile up. What towing system will remove it from the highway? What if it breaks down, how would you get it off the line when cars are moving under it.

If you have seen the vids (particularly the second one) then you can see the concept is better than a light rail system
It claims it can carry 1200-1400 passengers on each run which is a great people moving system

Any accident will cause a pile-up anway. In this case one lane underneath the straddle should be freed for moving the traffic

Each of the carriages may have to be independently powered (or you can have a driving car at each end) so that when the damaged car is dislodged from the couplings and it will be left behind for repair / towing. The rest of the carriages can keep moving ahead

In repect of the damaged bus, I think there would be a towing vehicle made with a very low-rise bed which runs on the same track. The damaged bus can be jacked/lifted up off the tracks to be laid and sat on bed with strong poles/grooves/anchors for holding the damaged bus in firm but standard positions. One side of the tow car will be used for carrying the driver and workers while the other side will be installed with strong entry and exist ramps for the traffic to go through

The concept is still in development and the people behind it can offer much better solutions for accidents :cheesy:
