China, India in competition to woo Bangladesh for defence deal

.
This is simple arithmetic. A nation that comes out as the top potential threat in all manner of studies, cannot expect to be supplying military hardware to BD or Pakistan. For instance, can Pakistan imagine IAF will buy JF-17?

:crazy_pilot: India isn't even in the Competition, She was Disqualified for Running on the Track while Heavily Doped on Ganja a long time ago...Update your Info Please, Just like India itself Updates it's MegaGigaUltra SooPer PowBhajji dates to 2020->2030->2130 etc :crazy_pilot:

As far any one can tell China did not ask for any defense deal. China had been selling and fulfilling Bangladesh defense requirements for ages without any defense agreement.
Sensing negative response from Bangladeshis, india already used its media infiltration Tribune to craft false message that somehow China is also asking for defense agreement. Hence the title of the article.

"China, India in competition to woo Bangladesh for defence deal"

Editor: Zafar Sobhan (Son and nephew of known indian hack in Bangladesh Rehman Sobhan and Farooq Sohan)

Dhaka Tribune is owned by 2A Media Limited, a concern of Awami League leader Kazi Nabil Ahmed's Gemcon Group.

If Bangladesh had to make a choice between the two countries.

China is the way forward. On many levels.

I'm aware of the foolishness of assigning Bangladesh an unrealistic and over important place in world affairs and more specifically the south Asian theatre.

However, watching how the Indian media and government reacted when Bangladesh bought 2 old subs from china was very telling.

Perhaps we're not THAT unimportant as we are made out to be.

You can't trust India period. The choice must be China. At least at this point in time.

There is no defense pact between BD and China, but China has declared a "Strategic Partnership" exists between the two countries when President Xi Jinping of China visited BD last year. "Strategic Partnership" must have a deep meaning, which is more implicit, and less explicit.

In comparison, BD is certainly negative on anything related to defense when it is India, and people should be watchful about India pushing through BD throat. That Indian offer of $500 million worth(less) of defense credit is a kind of pushing.

.
In both scinerio Bangladesh do good favour to Pak if they leave China than China will start hurting them

Furthermore, and perhaps more poignantly, issues on water-sharing between Bangladesh and India have long been an obstacle for discussions between the two countries, with projects like the Farakka Barrage denying flow of water into Bangladesh.

China has no problem to have a fair competition with India but be careful India of using water as blackmail to extract concession from Bangladesh. I think BD should get a dozen of Chinese drones: easy affordable to operate and maintain, tactical flexible to take out target such dam :D or any moving target in chicken necks , spy & surveillance and option as anti-ship for coastal defense, any strong enemy will think twice when dealing with Bangladesh.

tactical flexible to take out target such dam

That would be lots of fun for BD.

Take out dam, take out their own country in the process (quite directly too).

Coming from Mr. himalaya civil engineering guy himself.

3 (and counting) Brainless BDees giving a dr strangelove style pavlovian reaction too. I'm loving it.

So you admit that you guys hold Brahmaputra water from BD and afraid the we do the same to India...that sound like double standard for me .

Already discussed earlier regarding Chinese potential "control" (and you got owned):

And no, we don't hold any of the Brahmaputra back from BD (like say farakka on the ganges)....nor plan to (given the floodplain mechanics for construction).

If you want to open your mouth, at least do some basic research on the matter first. The very video you posted is not about brahmaputra at all lol (ouch!).

I have already mentioned the farakka water issue on this thread:

https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/bang...ted-water-after-farakkah.482371/#post-9279689

Not one BD person has responded past that (because they know facts are not on their side).

So like I said no smart BD person (past the pavlovian china cheerleaders - and even they probably didnt understand or ignored what you implied) would want the BD military to blow up an Indian dam near their border in any hypothetical conflict. They actually would want India itself not to open up the sluice gates because that would be really bad news downstream.

That all has nothing to do with how much India "controls" of the Ganges river.

BD (in a conflict - which has next to 0 chance of happening in the first place) would want the dam to stay functional and not open up the reservoir for a surge. What do you think destroying such dam would do regarding that? Not to mention limited payload chinese drones would be a pretty awful way of going about doing that.

You simply are not capable of good strategic and military analysis. Please tell your handlers to send a tier A chicom troll next time, you are like tier C or D at best. Thanks.

And If I understand well it's that India not only divert water with farakka barrage but use it as geopolitical tool to blackmail as Tsunami bomb to control the fate of BD: if BD bomb the barrage, they will be flooded, if they don't they will for ever at the mercy of India for water supply...and if one day BD don't please India then you guys can just shut the water valve and BD will have to toasted...and for the same reason you guys are so afraid that China will do the same to control the fate of India as you guys did to Bangladesh.

Even farakka barrage is not from Brahmaputra, what may you India the right the divert this water for your own purpose but complain that China to do the same with Brahmaputra? maybe it's time for China to take a page out of India's book and put into practice. And don't bullsh1t again, I has never claimed to be a strategist or military analysis.

unless it's their missile program, i think getting anything else is just a waste of money. Maybe we can buy some socks from India for our armed forces to keep them happy??:lol:
