China Expanding Regional Nuclear Forces

Time to call bullsh*t on the idea of a Vietnamese atomic bomb

This is the point in the discussion where I get tired of the fantasy Vietnamese atomic bomb.

I DEMAND a reputable mainstream western source that details a reasonable path for a Vietnamese atomic bomb in the foreseeable future. It doesn't exist. Hence, stop fantasizing about a Vietnamese nuke.

1. Pakistan's atomic bomb is based on an early Chinese blueprint. This was detailed in an old BusinessWeek article. It also wouldn't surprise me that the klystron was supplied by China. This was decades ago and was contingent on the detonation of an Indian atomic bomb.

China is not going to supply an atomic bomb blueprint or materials to Vietnam.

2. The US is still working to shut down the North Korean atomic bomb program.

3. Even a nuclear-capable country like Taiwan cannot obtain an atomic bomb.

The US has demanded and obtained all of Taiwan's plutonium.

----------
Taiwan tenders spent fuel reprocessing contract - IPFM Blog

"However, under 3.2.1 Management of the Plutonium in the draft contract, Taipower shall transfer ownership of the plutonium within ten years, and the final solution for the plutonium 'in a third party civilian reactors' is to be determined in line with the terms of the U.S. Taiwan nuclear cooperation agreement. The draft contract stipulates: 'For the avoidance of doubts, the Supplier shall never ship back the Plutonium to R.O.C.'

Under the terms of the U.S.-Taiwan agreement, and the proposed contract, only resulting designated nuclear waste is to be returned to Taiwan, with all plutonium and uranium separated at the reprocessing plant to be retained in the reprocessing state."
----------

Even if Taiwan had plutonium, there is no place to test the bomb in secret.

There are seismic detectors all over the world and neutron-detecting satellites in space. Taiwan cannot detonate an atomic bomb without worldwide sanctions.

Finally, let's say Taiwan has an atomic bomb. An atomic bomb is only 1/100th as powerful as a hydrogen bomb. Also, Taiwan is a tiny country compared to continental China (ie. 9.6 million square kilometers). Taiwan would be destroyed in a nuke war. China would not.

All of these obstacles and weaknesses apply to Vietnam. Additionally, Vietnam is a primitive country that lacks Taiwan's technologies.

The probability of Vietnam obtaining an atomic bomb is pretty close to zero and not worthy of discussion.

Haven't you realized your humour sucks, because nobody laughs?

I have problem to understand why you claim being nice, peaceful, when you point the gun at other, calling our people as monkeys, wishing to nuke Vietnam? Where is banana?

How can I know you laugh or not? Maybe you giggle shyly but hide it.

And why are you getting aggressive and insulting?

I reiterate, on topic, by the way, our nukes is to protect peace and the environment.

LOL. So why don't Vientamese students go study AIP submarine, Air Craft Carrier and nuclear missile programs at western universities? LOL

I guess in Vietnam, logic defies gravity

While at it, they should also study HGV and have one in two or three months.

In fact, back in the 70s, while the US was all in honeymoon mood with the Shah of Iran, Taiwan was on the list of countries that potentially might have nuclear weapons, along with nine or ten others. Iran was not on the list.

have you seen pictures of VPA´s T-34 tanks in the exercise that were engaged and fought in the decisive battle of Berlin in 1945? that is Vietnamese spirit of maintenance and keeping things working. more than what you say "responsibility to safeguard". by the way, I wonder why you are concerned if vietnam going nuclear? you and many here claim nuke is peace. many chinese clowns threaten us with nuclear holocaus.
You are seriously comparing a dangerous and complex political weapon like nuke to a WWII tank? LOL Good joke, my friend.

Vietnam going nuke is equivalent of a rogue state. If you go nuke, what stop Iran, North Korea, and many other states from getting nuke to protect themselves from US aggression?

Do not disturb the wet dream of the king of Mekong delta. Just let them keep dreaming.

In reality, this is the power difference between China and Vietnam, and today's China can easily swallow Vietnam with a single bite.

This is wet dream of China, we will slapped on your face like in 1979.

If China decided to use its full military power, Vietnam will be back in the stone age.

China is copycat, you repeated what your Uncle Sam has said and he has teaching you in cold war.

China can annihilate Vietnam if China truly wanted to eliminate Vietnam from the map.

China won't need to set foot on Vietnam to dismantle the spine of Vietnam.

You can't do that, bro. Your ancestor went home from long time.
