A newly implemented deal between Beijing and Islamabad will eliminate tariffs on hundreds of products, a move which is expected to provide a billion-dollar boost to bilateral trade.
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA)–II, which started on Wednesday, will waive or ease 75 percent of tariffs imposed by each country, over a period of 15 years. Beijing will immediately drop tariffs on more than 300 Pakistani exports, including textiles and garments, seafood and leather.

In exchange, Islamabad has provided greater market access to Chinese raw materials and heavy machinery.

The deal, inked in April 2019, will increase Islamabad’s exports to China by between $500 million and $600 million in the short-term, according to an official from Pakistan’s Commerce Ministry. The figure is expected to rise to $4 billion over the next five years.

Now these loud mouth exporters don't benefit from it then ?

Now we need to attract investors to best utilize Pakistani workers and Pakistani resources to produce for the Chinese market with the most efficient machinery, to maximize output. Also maximizing the input raw materials into the value added industries should be prioritized or exporting raw materials.

The government should make investment in Pakistani industries as seamless as possible.

See the ingrates trying to create tension! Pakistan benefit more as only China raw material and heavy machinery are waived. While Pakistan has 300 products mostly consumers good waive off tariff.

Who benefit more? I dont think I need an expert to tell u that.

I know that but our exporters and our nation in general have not been able to benefit from these waivers . Neither we utilized oil bonanza in previous term . Not we utilized other benefits such wot or other American funding . We are just not in the habit of utilising these.
Beacsue from now now government has set the stage and its exporters who would take it now .

Oh so you expect we give handouts and spoon-feed you? What expert advice can you give? China shall give Pakistan USD100billion, so the parasite can grew bigger?

Instead of China generous tariff waiver. Maybe China shall increase by 100% to wake you up.

Please don't talk just for the sake of talking. Your comment helps nothing for Pakistan.

I keep saying this but we need to implement Chinese model.
Get Chinese investment to come in and set up factories, that are owned and operated by locals and force them to give us their IP (or steal it).

China has been very successful with their model and Pakistan needs to use it too.

Don't worry about them.

We will keep doing what is right for our countries, regardless of anyone else's feelings or opinions.

China and Pakistan are two of the most hated countries in the world, but we are both strong nucleat nations with great militaries and sensible leadership. They can't do anything to us.

Lol.. who will come to your country to invest with this practice?

First of all you need a stable country with the right infrastructure to support such investment. Pakistan do have a decent population but unstable government and unconvincing policy that can support long term investment.

China with one party ensure long term stability which policy which allow them to operate without fear of ever changing environment that will harm their investment.

You really think China partnership with foreign countries will received 100% technology transfer? In fact, China spend a huge amount of money and research to find out the remaining core technology which they will never transfer to you.

I literally said it was your model and you laughed saying who would come?
is Patriotic education the ONLY subject taught to you guys in school?

And China sure was secure after Tienanmen.....
And anyone can force "long term stability" but the thing with force is that eventually it breaks.

I never said we will receive 100% technology transfer, I said we should take the technology they do give and steal the rest. Just like china did.

Rest assured that Pakistanis exporters and industrialists will not take advantage of this and instead do more rona dhona infront of government for more subsidies and incentives

I think we have some problem Understanding each other. I meant nothing of the sort you mentioned.
I just want Pakistani exporters to use this oppertunity to its fullest . China is a big market and pakistan is a very small market compared to them.. China buys expensive stuff from the world.. As we are best friends China should buy good quailty and cheap stuff from us .
And so they have given us waivers and thanks to them . Now is the time for Pakistan to take benefit of this opertunity .
