China dominates the world’s trade of Christmas stuff
Where do ornaments, tinsel, and plastic Christmas trees come from? And who’s buying the stuff?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, China is making them and the US is importing in mass quantities according to the International Trade Centre.

Of course there are small amounts of trade between other nations, but nothing on the scale of China.

I don't understand why people by plastic Christmas trees. Spruce trees are soo much better, the real kind, that grows.

Yes, but we don't want to drag in a tree every Christmas. We now have a light up tree. When we were younger, we would buy trees from the tree farm. Now, we are older, we no longer do that.

Hopefully India will take some of the share soon, as Make in India initiative start to materalize asap

Why killing a tree just for a day's use when you can use plastic instead
I plan on moving up north where I won't have to cut it down. Until then, plastic trees don't smell like spruce.

PS. My tree stays up until March, or until it starts sprouting new green. Didn't buy one this year.
