Western ego can’t handle to see China being successful. They want China to be poor and dependent on them so they can use it as leverage over China.
China achieving self-sufficiency is a massive threat to their hegemony as China will be independent and also export it to countries in the global south. It removes leverage over China and also over other global south countries.
Indeed, China inspires other developing countries.
Revolutionary warlike spirit is fairly easy to spread. It involves lots of emotions (Not that this spirit is valueless).
But revolutionary development spirit is difficult to sustain, and more difficult to spread. I see China is actually inspiring such spirit. China itself has also benefitted from it as it looked at Japan, Korea etc. But, Japanese/Korean developmentalism lacked revolutionary strain.
China's spirit is both developmental and revolutionary in the sense that it inspires development and full sovereignty.
