China criticises the US over 'terrible' human rights situation and 'grim racial division'

A A A
China has released a scathing report on the state of human rights in the United States.

In the seven-page document, published by Xinhua news agency, China's State Council Information Office is highly critical of recent racial tensions in the US, gun violence, torture offences and rising inequality.

Not only is the situation in the US "increasingly grave," according to the report, "the US violated human rights in other countries in a more brazen manner, and was given more 'red cards' in the international human rights field".

The report comes just days after the US State Department's annual analysis on human rights around the world, and follows three days of high-level talks between the countries in Washington DC.

China has been issuing this US-centric human rights report for the last 16 years — a transparent attempt to expose the country's double standards.

The report, which was compiled using US media articles, says: "The US is a country with grim problems of racial discrimination, and institutional discrimination against ethnic minorities continued.:partay:

"Serious racial bias persisted in the police and justice systems. Minority groups and indigenous people are subject to unfairness in environment, election, health care, housing, education and other fields." :partay:

The US was also last year "haunted by spreading guns, frequent occurrence of violent crimes, which threatened citizens' civil rights."

The two countries have often clashed over human rights, especially since 1989 when the US enforced sanctions on China after its bloody response to pro-democracy protests in Tianamen Square.

China has long rejected US criticism of its human rights record, arguing that it has lifted millions out of poverty.

So far under President Xi Jinping, promises to improve citizens democracy and human rights have been undermined by a forceful crackdown on dissidents and activists.

Sometimes, when I am alone, I start weeping over the unfairness of being an American, not only condemned forever to living in this hell-hole, but also because I will never know the joys of being a Chinese citizen. Then I take my gun out of my mouth and put it back in my gun locker.

I hope everyone takes this to heart and stays away from the US. We're like a roach motel: many enter, few leave. It must be because they are discriminated against and then murdered, poor souls.

About time someone tells what is wrong with USA human rights record at home and around the world.

How Western media would cover Baltimore if it happened elsewhere - The Washington Post

International leaders expressed concern over the rising tide of racism and state violence in America, especially concerning the treatment of ethnic minorities in the country and the corruption in state security forces around the country when handling cases of police brutality. The latest crisis is taking place in Baltimore, Maryland, a once-bustling city on the country’s Eastern Seaboard, where an unarmed man named Freddie Gray died from a severed spine while in police custody.

Black Americans, a minority ethnic group, are killed by state security forces at a rate higher than the white majority population. Young, black American males are 21 times more likely to be shot by police than white American males.

The United Kingdom expressed concern over the troubling turn of events in America in the last several months. The country’s foreign ministry released a statement: “We call on the American regime to rein in the state security agents who have been brutalizing members of America’s ethnic minority groups. The equal application of the rule of law, as well as the respect for human rights of all citizens, black or white, is essential for a healthy democracy.” Britain has always maintained a keen interest in America, a former colony.

Palestine has offered continued assistance to American pro-democracy activists, sending anti-tear-gas kits to those protesting police brutality in various American cities. Egyptian pro-democracy groups have also said they will be sharing their past experience with U.S.-made counter-protest weapons.

A statement from the United Nations said, “We condemn the militarization and police brutality that we have seen in recent months in America, and we strongly urge American state security forces to launch a full investigation into the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore. There is no excuse for excessive police violence.” The U.N. called on the United States to make a concerted effort to make databases of police violence public to improve transparency and cut down on corruption in the justice system.

nternational analysts predict the seeds of a so-called “American Spring,” fomented by technology. “It’s amazing what social media is doing for the cause of justice in America,” said a political rights analyst based in Geneva. “The black youth of America are showing what 21st-century civil rights activism looks like, using technology, social media and a decentralized organizing strategy to hold authorities accountable and agitate for change. These kids represent what modern-day freedom fighting looks like. The revolution will be tweeted, Periscope-d and Snapchatted.”

Local leaders in the American township of Baltimore imposed a state of martial law this week after peaceful protests turned violent. In response, countries around the world have advised darker-skinned nationals against non-essential travel to areas noted for state violence against unarmed people of color, especially in recent hot spots such as New York, Missouri, Oklahoma,South Carolina, Ohio, California, Michigan, Virginia and now Maryland.

International human rights groups have appealed to the global community to facilitate asylum for America’s ethnic black minorities. When asked whether the European Union was willing to take on more black refugees risking their lives in fleeing American state violence, an E.U. human rights spokesman said: “More black refugees? We are dealing with our own Mediterranean crisis, so now is not really a good time for that for us. Furthermore, we believe in American solutions to American problems.” The African Union has not responded to requests for comment.

American government officials took to state media, characterizing the protesters as “thugs,” a racially coded word increasingly used to describe black males in America. Commentators in national media have frequently compared the protesters and riots to various characters and events from the popular television series “The Wire,” set in early-2000s Baltimore.

America’s ethnic blacks have been displaced from many of their communities due to a phenomenon experts on the region call “gentrification,” when wealthier residents move into a lower-income area. Baltimore is no exception to this trend, with some areas seeing home values rise as much as 137 percent after corporate dollars move in on opportunities in poverty-stricken areas.

Resident Joe Smith, a member of the white majority ethnic group, said outside of a brand-new Starbucks near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, “I don’t know why these blacks are destroying their own communities. Why don’t these people follow Martin Luther King’s example? Those guys got it good from the police back then too, but they didn’t try to rise up and fight back and make everyone uncomfortable, you know?”

You are the exceptional and indispensable nation that can never no wrong after all. You have the right to not only criticize everybody else, but also invade one country after another, demonize anyone you please, tell others what to do, impose sanctions on anyone, topple other counbtries' governments, but nobody should ever dare criticize you. This simply cannot be tolerated because exceptionalist empires are entitled to do whatever they like. They are not bound by any international law. International law only applies to losers.

haha!!!

Yes, Hollywood doesn't do a good job of portraying the incredibly dangerous situation over here.
We need more reality movies like Escape from New York to show the true situation to frighten people away.

I understand why people don't generally immigrate to China because of the human right situation, I mean why do you want to discriminated against and persecuted against by the notorious CCP government when they watch your every move?

But I don't understand, why people wanting to migrate to the US, despite being an non-ethnic white American, you WILL BE SHOT AT, SPIT AT and LAUGHT AT by the white American fascist police regime?

Are people this stupid?? Why they WANT to come here and be abused of their human right.

When you think of it, it does not make sense lol

I can attested to the authenticity of Escape from New York, people shoot people in the street for no reason, police are useless and corrupted and the street of new York are ruled by Street Gang and bikie, it's more real than Escape from LA, which was considered a Documentary by the library of congress

2010 San Fernando massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The routes of illegal immigration in Mexico are stalked with "kidnappers, murders, rapists and corrupt officials," and is regarded as "one of the most perilous migration routes in the world." Every year, tens of thousands of poor immigrants from Central and South America start their journey up to the north. Nonetheless, in the past few years, their journey "has become a horror show." According to Amnesty International, armed and violent robberies used to be the biggest threat to those traveling up north; nowadays, kidnappings by organized crime groups are the norm (in this case, Los Zetas). Typically, the kidnappers keep the victims in safe houses for days until relatives of the victims in the United States or back home raise money to free the captives.Torture is a common method used in incidents like this, and several victims have claimed after their liberation that they have seen people killed before their eyes for failing to pay their ransom. Rape is also common in the migrants' journey, and even smugglers have advised women to carry contraceptive injections before starting their journeys. The migrants are also exploited, beaten, extorted, and abused by "authorities and criminals alike."
