Someone else will be more conservative and anti-American. If Americans with devil's help will make their pawn the head of Russia - Russia will die. You can see Ukraine, but it will be 100 times worse.

As of today, I cherish our relationship with Russia. Hopefully our relationship will become even stronger like Iron brothers like China and Pakistan. I do not see we have any differences, we have supported each other through think and thin in our foreign policies in any foreseeable angle.

A defensive alliance would be too risky for Beijing. What China and Russia need to be are political allies. To defend each other in the UN/elsewhere from the Western bullies.

Bismark set up Germany with an alliance with Italy and Austria in 1880s, that did not turn out well for Germany. Would have been better without that alliance. The Austrio-Hungarians started war for the Triple Alliance, getting Germany into a war they did not want, and the Italians ditched Germany to fight Germany in WWI. So the two terrible results of an alliance, getting into a war that forced a crushing defeat. And the other is not only did Italy not join the war to support Germany, Italy changed sides.

There are pro-European factions but no pro-American faction in Russia. The end of NATO and the reconciliation between Russia and Europe mean the marginalization of the United States, and the Eurasian continent will once again become the center of the world.

The Cold War is not over, the Soviet Union lost the first half and the United States will lose the second half.

Russia will enjoy the benefits of development in Asia and Europe at the same time.
