China has detained 21 Vietnamese fishermen in the South China Sea, according to reports on Thursday that cited Vietnamese officials. An official from Quang Ngai Province, where the fishermen are from, told The Associated Press that they were detained on March 3 near the Paracel Islands, which are controlled by China’s military. Vietnam claims sovereignty over the islands, whose territory it once shared with China. The Vietnamese official said China was demanding $11,000 for the release of the fishermen. Tensions over the territorial disputes in the South China Sea have been rising in recent years.

LOL at Vietnam weaklings trying to challenge China. Not a chance of success. Still waiting for mighty Vietnamese navy to show China what its got, especially after 1988 when they turned into fish food.

Official Chinese Pirates have just kidnaped Viet fishermen and asking for ransom $11,000 only, from the family of these fishermen...while the Bejing dare not to confirm yes or no.

That's what you get for trespassing. They should keep the boat too.

Big gun is big voice...huh...pirates.

Hey, something is happening in Bejing or just rumour ?

Yep, the rumor is once new boss comes in, he'll make an example out of certain monkey land.

Really !! then black tortoise sino will become several nations. If so, it is really lucky for the Asia and the rest of the world.

Vietnam is allowed to fish in our water if they afford the fishing payment.

WTF? Just $11,000? :what: That's the cost of my pet poodle! I didn't know Chinese standards had fallen so sharply of late! Since the Chinese are following in the footsteps of the Somali pirates, they should have settled for nothing less than $11 million for each Vietnamese! I think the Chinese need more training from their Somali brethren in piracy for ransom! They can earn billions from bushwhacking the Japanese, Indonesians, Phillipinos, and so on in the South China Sea. :cheesy:

Cheers!
