Islamabad

Chilean Air Force Commander-in-Chief General Jorge Rojas Avila Tuesday visited Air Headquarters Islamabad, says a press release. On his arrival at Air Headquarters, Pakistan Air Force Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman received the distinguished guest.

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented the guard of honour. After reviewing the guard of honour, he was introduced to principal staff officers of Pakistan Air Force. The visiting guest paid homage to the martyrs of PAF by laying floral wreath on Martyrs’ Monument at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He also called on Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman in his office.

Both remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional interest. The delegation attended a briefing at the Air Headquarters on the organisation, role and functioning of Pakistan Air Force.

Interested in jf-17...............?

Negative, they are hands full with upgraded F-16s and F-5s their bellies are full for the next 10+ Years. By then they would still have a strong tilt towards US equipment.

.
maybe K-8's or do they operate them

Dear,

With due respect, You and I might be free to visit our distant neighbors just for a VISIT's sake, sitting Air-Chiefs do not have this kind of spare time on their hands to enjoy these luxuries, especially not at the expence of their tax payers. Maybe Chile is interested to Buy Trainers, JF-17s or even Pakistan's F16-AM/BMs (They bought Nederlands F16 AM/BMs), or maybe they want to share manpower and experience that comes with operating F16s or schedule an excercise.

Rest assured, no sitting Air-Chief visits another country without an agenda at hand, and believe me when i tell you that this agenda might have been under discussion at lower level for many months by both parties (guests and hosts) before an Air Chief makes the actual visit.

Regards,
Sapper

Sir,

We have had multiple visits by the Air Chiefs of quite a few nations without any major deal signed.
Agreed The agenda may include minor training exchanges , a proposal for expanding relations at best.
But my post was aimed at reducing the speculation for any major deals, lest many are left disappointed.
I do not rule out the possibility that there may be a surprise in the visit, but the probability of that lies within good fortune.

Regards

Santro.
