CHERYL Cole will only have herself to blame if she is killed by al-Qaeda, vile hate preacher Anjem Choudary has warned.

The cleric said the former X Factor judge is a target after she visited British troops in Afghanistan last week and paid tribute to their work.

Asked what he would think if the singer was a terror victim, he said: "I'd say it's something she's brought on herself." He added: "I find it completely outrageous that Cheryl Cole can go to Afghanistan and start praising the soldiers.

"The more she is seen as the sweetheart of the forces and the more she is involved in Afghanistan, the more she will create enemies among the Muslims.

"She will only have herself to blame for the repercussions on her own security." And he warned: "High-profile figures are not beyond the reach of al-Qaeda and the mujahideen."

Brave Cheryl, 28, visited our troops at Helmand's Camp Bastion, saying: "I'm delighted to be here to recognise all the hard work they do.

"Every one of them is a hero in my book."
