By reading your posts it seems u even lack the very basic knowledge of Islam. No ijtehad is not the duty of evey muslim. Its should be done by people with vast knowledge and it cannot contradict Quran and sunnah and he/she must be aware of the views of the scholars. Any tom , dick and harry can not do ijtihad like u r suggesting. Howabout learning a thing or 2 about islam before showing your pathetic ignorance.

You do know its not possible like that in a democracy. He will be rebelled by his own party members. And moreover as a PM, he knows what better directions a country should take to deliver a goal in reducing poverty, economy and military strength. And the decisions can be popular and might be unpopular as well .
The question is if a person can deliver, irrespective of his faith.
Lets assume even if that president converts ur nation to secular, does it going to have any bearing for individual pakistanis?

but in today's world Ijtehaad has become very difficult, as even Ulemas cannot agree on everything nowadays

its not about managing ... Prophet gives a theory that muslim is a brother of another muslim .. and when two brothers fight .. the base of your home is weak ... islam was meant to grow or else after prophet's death , we will be facing a hard time .. when there was a concern over choosing the first caliph amongst peoples from Ansar or muhajireen ...

That really is no logic. What you were meant to be or not be 70 years back is not relevant today. Countries change themselves all the time.
What difference does it make to you as a practicing Muslim if Pakistan is a secular state or an Islamic one. Tell me in practical examples. You would still be able to go to prayers 5 times a day, you would still keep a fast during ramzan, your masjid will still use loudspeakers for azan.

The only thing that Secular country would do is ensure that no one can take non-Muslims for a ride. The State will not discriminate between its people on the basis of religion.

My favourite recent personality is late Nelson Mandela. When he became President, racial tensions were high. Blacks were baying for the bloods of the Whites. Blacks wanted laws, from education to sports , to give preference to them, even Mandela's own party mens. Such was the aspirations of the Black people.

But what Mandela did? He brushed aside all criticism. He gave equal rights for all, which were clearly unpopular at that time. He was not afraid to take decisions. See where South Africa is now. Better if not worse, however a unity is present all over the country.

Pakistan should have a leader (even India) to have a visionery like Mandela, that will be good for the future, instead of following narrow minded interest in short term.

about two Muslim brothers fighting, there is a verse in the Quran, that a Muslim brother should intervene and settle the dispute, if one of them doesnt agree to the terms of the agreement, then use force against him, until he comes to his senses

I am not a Muslim. But if a non muslim person, is so capable in his administrative capabilities, then y not make him PM or President? After all a state is administrative as agreed by you. Then y you argue, sensitive posts like PM or President should reside with muslim only, even if Real Islam is followed?

Hypocrisy is embroiled in Muslim minds. That's the core of this problem. In Israel or any other Western democracy, they have no such discriminating laws that say a Muslim cannot become a PM or President.

dude, according to our current law, there is no discrimination, against Muslim or Non Muslim today, not any that i know of.
