Known for having created a brand around him, now Brand Modi has spilled onto the Navratri Festival. Modi Tattoos, Modi Kurta and also Modi Suits, Fabrics and Sarees have found their way into the market. As the country gears up for Navratri, we look at some emerging trends surrounding Modi theme this season.

Ever thought Narendra Modi could also inspire fashion choices? 'Modi Tattoos' are, apparently, emerging as the latest trend across Gujarat, where men and women want to plaster on their bodies, tattoos of their favourite political leader. First it was the Modi mask and now Modi tattoo. In Ahmedabad, men are getting temporary Modi tattoos on their biceps, whereas, women are showing it off through their backless cholis.

A tattoo artist in the city has prepared 30,000 sticker tattoos to be distributed on various Garba venues to show support for the next PM candidate from BJP. From black and white to coloured portraits of Modi, the youth is definitely showing their support in a trendy way.

Not just in Gujarat but in Mumbai too, a commercial tattoo artist from Ghatkopar's Ace tattooz and art studio declared that he would provide a permanent tattoo of Narendra Modi free of cost. He says "Till now, I have received around 15 requests from various metros like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. This is just our way of showing support for a strong leader who can make a difference."

Modi Kurta

Modi Kurta has entered the market in various colours this Navratri. Kurta with half sleeves, buttoned-up, standing collar and detailing on the shoulder seam is now available online and not just in the country but it has inveigled Gujarati pockets in the UK, the US and East Africa. Jade Blue, the manufacturers of Modi Kurta have been dressing up Modi for two decades now and have taken the brand overseas.

They sell these in 20 colours and 12 styles through the company's 18 outlets in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. According to the grapevine, Modi Kurta is a rage in the US and not just in the Gujarati community during the festive season, but also rest of NRI population is demanding the Modi Kurta.

Modi Sarees and dress materials

Surat's biggest textile market is promoting their sarees, dress materials with Modi as their brand. It seems that Modi is quite popular among women and these traders want to cash in on his charm. These heavily embroidered sarees carry a special sticker that says 'Modi lao, desh bachao'. Some saree bags and packets have messages like 'Vote Modi, save nation'.

As Modi is a hero for many womenfolk, these sarees have takers not just in Surat but a huge demand is also seen in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and West Bengal.

Modi Songs

Be prepared to dance to Modi songs this Navratri. Last year, Modi turned lyricist for noted singer and musician Devang Patel, as he penned a Gujarati garba song. But this year those songs would be translated into Hindi and played at many Garba venues across Gujarat and even Mumbai. Apart from that, singers like Arvind Vegda, who campaigned for Modi during the state elections will also sing some songs during Navratri.
