Zarvan, this video is a lesson for you that you don't win the CT op with BPJ, SCAR, Heli or a 5000 manned SWAT, but you win the Op with Passion, Discipline, Courage........Policeman knew how to swap between AK & his pistol, he did not allow the asasiltants to go out of sight, did not took time for reloading AK, instead stayed on target and Switched Handgun

Both is needed entire world is not retard to give latest Assault Rifles along with latest Optics to it's forces. He also lacked good BP vest if not for mobile he would have been marytered yes new better Rifles and Optics and BP vests are equally important along with will to fight and passion

You have answered your question yourself .....i always liked a dialgoue from the movie "Batman Begins" .....it goes ....Training is nothing but an excuse....it is the will to do is everything........
I have always been an advocate of developing the discipline among the police force......the key is the discipline......if they lack the discipline, the compassion, the will to fight then no matter how modern the rifle is, you will have a disaster at hands......
Let me rewind it back for you - Karachi Airport attack - it was an attack led by ASF - an Op that concluded successfully (as a Response Unit Op). FOr them there were no fancy optics, no fancy Guns.....yet they fought valiantly ....first we need to work on the training & discipline then we can bring in the big guns.........
Also let me point you towards a fact, may be you are not aware of it, perhaps @RescueRanger would not agree , but not so long ago beretta 92 were issued to Police Force.....lacking the discipline, those bettys were sold to anyone who would pay the right price to the personnel.......and Official Issued weapon was replaced with a local made clone.....since we are so good at making clone of Zigana & beretta these days......

If we institute conscription from age 16 or 18 with 2 year military service.
And put an end to Indian propoganda media in Pakistan.

Many of our problems would go away. 2 yr military service would inculcate discipline, religious values, national identity, sense of purpose and proper religious direction to our youth whose present concentration is only on chasing booty and fast food. This is how we can de-condition our future leaders.

Foreign and domestic enemies have risen because slowly, meticulously our national identity has been corrupted.

Lastly, many psuedo liberals will disagree. But the most important thing is whole of Pakistani nation seems to have a sense of restlessness which is due to being away from prayer and quran. Many of Pak army soldiers live in far derelict places but have iron resolve, largely due to Islam. So returning people to the true Islam(not one extreme or other)

Let me remind you even in that attack we lost 17 people including 7 ASF Jawans. They could have lived if were equipped with good BP vests and BP helmets along with night vision stuff. If you are following recent Afghan Taliban attacks on Afghan Forces the major difference is not training or something but the equipment which Taliban are using is turning them into more deadly force. No body is denying the issues with our Police and those issues won't go away until we have better leaders like Imran who are ready to give freedom to Police and place dead honest person as IG and let him do the work. But still equipment is also required along with improving FIA and IB and Special Branch of each province.
