Regardless of the vet's apparent medical hiccups and the quite hollow assertion that this has been declared "harmful for cats as well", it is extremely deplorable as to what is being sold to children at a very cheap price.
What kind of human beings commit such crimes? Don't the people selling this have children of their own?
Anyways, food tampering laws face the same administrative and implementation problems that other laws face. Food Safety is based on the The Pure Food Ordinance 1960 (and The Cantonment Pure Food Act, 1966 which is just the same). However, the law itself needs improvement regarding adulteration checks. The maximum punishment was increased to 25 years in 2003.
The problem here is that the offense is still bailable and as there are only a handful of chemical examination labs in Pakistan, in most cases the criminals obtain bail and runaway before the chemical examination report can be submitted before the court. The bail demanding that the defendant not leave the district premises without obtaining permission of course has no effect on the defendant in practice. A similar problem is encountered when it comes to implementing Drug Laws as fake and tempered drugs are very common in our country. They won't need a chemical examination in this case though.
Everytime I see such stuff (which is almost on a daily basis), I am forced to question as to how morally bankrupt people go to sleep and how can society not only tolerate them (since they continue to live freely) but they are protected and defended by their acquaintances much like in every other case in our country.
The bastard running this operation and his cronies better spend the rest of their lives behind bars and pay heavy fines as well.

Western scientists have declared this cat food unfit for cats as well. “Whiskas” is a famous international cat food brand.
Renowned veterinary surgeon Prof Athar Khan told Geo News that the said food was given to animals with medicine.
Lahoriites have shown great concern over the issue, saying sale of animal food as human food in the country’s one of the biggest cities has put a question mark on government’s efficiency.
