Captain Jannatul Ferdous has become Bangladesh’s first female paratrooper.She made a 1000-metre jump and landed safely on Thursday in the Panichharha Drop Zone adjacent to the Sylhet Cantonment.Captain Ferdous got commission in the 59th BMA Long Course in Bangladesh Army on Dec 24, 2009. She is currently working as a computer trainer in Bangladesh Military Academy.She took part in a ‘Basic Para Course’ conducted by the Special War Section of the Jalalabad School of Infantry and Tactics on Jan 13 this year.Chief trainer of the school’s Special War Section, Lt Col AKM Saiful Islam, said the course was introduced from 1990s. He said female members of the Army were not attracted to the course as “it is very risky”.“Captain Jannatul Ferdous is the first woman to willingly participate and successfully complete the course,” Islam said.

i never got this... Suppose this is Nazi Occupied France.. A lady paratrooper ( also a muslim) was dropped behind the enemy line... then??

I also didn't get you...the same money spending behind men is not wasted...how come it's wasted when it's women? Anyway, great job by Capt Ferdous...congrats.

Women are good in many fields like as army doctors.. i have no problem in having a woman as Boss... I was just saying if you ask usain bolt to play sumo it makes no sense.....

Usain Bolt is a sprinter and sumo is different game. Capt. Ferdous is an army officer not from medical corps. So she has all the right in that way to participate in all activities in her professional reach if not it'll be discriminatory.

i was just asking how effective they will be in a real battle situation when dropped behind enemy line???? I guess they are good jumper, good shooters.. Bt i was asking about a scenario - dropped behind enemy line to fight a guerilla styled war in the supply line of enemy where they will have to stay in jungles for suppose 1-2 months.... I believe you know very well about 2nd world war american troopers in france??

I understand your point.But,my point is if they are capable enough to fight in every situation like male soldiers than we should let them join.There should be no compromise just because they are females.Their capability should be tested like the men.
