I would love for India to go for F35. This would spell the end for FGFA(PAK-FA) joint venture. Russia, which was already reportedly unwilling to share some high end sensitive tech with India would become even less inclined to do so after seeing billions of dollars being used for F35 instead of going to Russia. On the other hand, unlike in the case of F16, the Americans(and other partners in F35 program) wouldn't want to share their top of the line 5th gen tech with India. So it would just end up being an off the shelf purchase with no ToT of any sort. Their might be some tech that may still come from the Russians bcuz of the money India had put up for PAK-FA project but it wouldn't really count for much.Loooooool this gets better....buy the time they decide the world will be on 8th gen
No, india will think they are the only country loaded with money and can make seller dance at its own pace and later dictated by ToT term. Indian always think they hold the upper hand and called the shot but only in their delusion dream.I would love for India to go for F35. This would spell the end for FGFA(PAK-FA) joint venture. It is learnt the IAF wants to procure 126 of the variant called F-35A - the air force version of the fighter that incorporates "conventional take-off and landing"
In what would be a huge capability jump, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is increasingly interested in procuring the American F-35 Lightning II for its depleting fighter fleet.
Business Standard learns the IAF top brass is formally requesting for a classified briefing by the F-35’s prime builder, Lockheed Martin, on the capabilities of the sophisticated, fifth-generation fighter developed under the US Joint Strike Fighter programme. The US government has not formally offered the F-35 to India. A classified briefing would require formal clearance from the US Department of Defence (the Pentagon) and the State Department. The grant of such a clearance would be an important first step towards permitting the sale of F-35s to India. It is learnt the IAF wants to procure 126 of the variant called F-35A – the air force version of the fighter that incorporates “conventional take-off and landing”, or CTOL.
More in the article.
And in the meantime Pakistan will be fielding it's faith gen in 5 years. Those that doubt the timelines should look at jf17I would love for India to go for F35. Decision in 126 years plus May be 36 years126 or 36? This dance seems familiar
You mean FGFA broAssuming there's any truth to this article, the only way this is gonna happen is by considering F35 for SEF requirement.
Su57 is coming.
Although operating three 5th gen fighters in the future may sound ridiculous, It's not improbable.
By Su57?You mean FGFA bro
