The speaker of the house was contacted by a constituent about this old Ukainian man who was a hero in World War 11. The man who called believed the stories the old man told about his war service over 80 years ago and thought the speaker might like to introduce him to Zelensky. There was no reason to investigate his story , the Speaker and his staff took this man at his word and invited him to the House of Commons. Nothing nefarious or underhanded. Canadians joined the British the moment they declared war on Germany. An embarrassing mistake unfortunately, that is all.
