A nice presentation in Turkish with English subtitles on a recent threat from the USA to expel Turkey from the NATO (it's an oftly repeated threat since the time immemorial) due to her veto on the inclusion of Finland and Sweden into the alliance. Major points:
  • Turkey's existence isn't due to the presence of the NATO, nor her non-existence due to the absence of the NATO.
  • NATO/West will either accede to the rational and rightful demands of Turkey (including the disclosure of F-35's 8-million line code) or get prepared to deal further with Putin. Choice is theirs to make.
  • It's a "marriage of convenience", at the least till now.
  • Without Turkey the southern flank of the NATO is gone, which would be a cause of the ultimate celebration at the Russo-Sino camp.
  • As for Turkey, when the "promised time" comes she'd leave the NATO without a blink of the eye. Turkey is prepping to "reign in the Heaven". Let the "serving in the Hell" be left to the lesser beings (e.g., Bajwa, Sherifs, Bhuttos etc.).
  • No "lost love", or no "crocodile tears" here; only, "Frankly Dear, I don't give a damn".
  • Etc.
*Some explanations are from me so that the Kibla remains Durust.

Why would NATO resort to such extreme measures when they can get Turkey's cooperation in other ways? Here is what they might do:

1. Turkey recently requested to buy F-16Vs from US. The US might approve that conditional to Turkey's "yes" for Sweden and Finland.
2. Turkey pointed out that Sweden blocked defense exports to Turkey because of its involvement in Syria and Azerbaijan. Sweden will resume defense exports to Turkey in exchange for Turkey's "yes" vote. The UK and Canada, which previously banned defense exports to Turkey, have already resumed defense exports to Turkey.
3. Sweden and Finland can crack down on PKK in their country as Turkey demands in exchange "yes".

. .
Why does Turkey even stay in Nato anymore?

I can see zero benefits and a lot of hassle for it.
The fact that you can't see is a problem with your eyesight. For now, the ideal way to control NATO-centered risk factors is to stay within NATO.

The bullshizts of the trolls here is also ironic. For a country that has assumed much more important roles than the countries in question and has reflected this responsibility on the field, what a few populist buffoons have said is not a response to be taken seriously.

Those who did nothing to prevent the war in Syria, parasitic NATO members who exacerbated the war through terrorist organizations and thus turned millions of Syrians into refugees, the effort to transform the distribution of weapons to terrorist organizations into a heroic story through the media is a disgrace of the post-modern world.

For example, about 15 years ago, when France was returning to the NATO military wing, it received Turkey's approval. However, this country has openly supported terrorism, ignoring the NATO acquis. The French company Lafarge actively supported the Syrian establishment of ISIS and its and fortification. These are also available in French local court records. It also provided support for French citizens to join these terrorist organisations.

France means an unethical foreign policy that has a relationship of interest with terrorist organizations from Africa to the Middle East, or with undemocratic military juntas and structures that threaten state order.

So the crying of braindead people due to the post-truth bombardment under such titles will not make any sense, just like the owners of such articles. Turkey has no account to give to the charlatans who try to hide their bloody hands with the power of the media and become angry as their regional hegamony is shaken.

My country is the third country that has lost the most of its citizens in ISIS terrorism. My army is one of the three countries' armies directly fighting against ISIS. TR accepted at least 1 million Syrians, in my country, freeing them from ISIS terror. We are one of the few countries still actively fighting ISIS with intelligence and counter-terrorism units. Thousands of terrorists are in the prisons of my country. Just today, with another major operation, an ISIS terrorist wanted around the world was caught while he was preparing for action in Istanbul.

The Syrian-Turkish border is an artificial border. It is a border line on both sides of which is agricultural land and based on the old railway, with a length of 900 kilometers and 90% of which there is no physical obstacle and even passes through the middle of the towns. 10% (Hatay region) is completely forested and mountainous. Despite this, the density of refugees transitions in this region did controlled in Idlib from the very beginning.

However, illegal transit problems occurred mostly other %90, which is really difficult to control. Terrorist organizations were passing through the basements of the apartments through tunnels. Or they were crossing the fields in groups. For these reasons, billions of dollars were spent and physical measures were increased at this border, and we were finally able to solve this problem.

About 4 million Syrians flocked to Turkey from this border line. People took refuge in Turkey to save their lives. In demographic studies, it is known that 60% of these people who took refuge in Turkey are from the regions where of the bloodbaths turned by regime and supporter states, and 40% are people from the regions where ISIS and PKK persecution are experienced. In the Idlib region, we were mostly able to keep these people there. By the way, 80% of the refugees in Idlib are not from Idlib, but mostly people in the south of Syria after the regime's hunger blockade, loaded on buses and removed from their homes.

On the other hand, maybe 50-60K militants for the Syrian branch of the pkk terrorist organization or MLKP etc, which is the first threat to Turkey's national security, have crossed these borders and joined the structure in Syria, and they are threatening Turkey today.

90% of terrorists who used Turkish borders to cross into Syria had the aim of waging an armed struggle against Turkey. This includes ISIS, never mind the western propaganda, even as you write somethngs here, another ISIS executive was caught today. As there are thousands of them in Turkish prisons, other thousands were crushed under the boots of the Turkish Armed Forces. We lost thousands of our compatriots in this war. We are one of the countries that have had the biggest struggle with this herd of dogs, and we still do.

The USA, on the other hand, started to equip this terrorist group in the form of an army with more than 30,000 trucks of military aid, and in the same process, it also provided airborne military assistance to ISIS many times. The proxy structures of the USA did not collide with the regime here, but mostly with the Turkish army, and carried numerous attack against Turkish civilians.

After the disappearance of the state order in this region since 2012, we have been advocating the construction of a safe zone in order to prevent terrorist organizations from gaining ground in this vacuum. States such as the USA and France have always and vehemently opposed this. Because they had cooperation with terrorist organizations.

Fortunately, we are now coming to the end of this story. We're going to kick someone's *** so big that the 100-year account here will be closed. But it will not end there, the second act will begin in Africa.

Dude, calm down.

BD posters are friendly to Turkey and some of us just want to know why it still is in Nato.

Nato will never go to nuclear war to protect Turkey and Turkey is more than strong enough to defeat Russia conventionally from our viewpoint.

US will not even sell weapons to Turkey anymore unless it becomes a US slave.

That is the angle I am coming from

Is it me or are some Turkish posters just overly defensive here?

To answer question, no.

Turkey has more leverage than even they recognize. They can deal with EU and Russia with zero risk because their geo-strategic location is that important.

These turks literally locked the black sea with chains in the past. They can do it again.
