Ban all Chinese nationals, businesses, and corporations from visiting and conducting business in the Phillipines and ban all Philippines nationals, businesses, and corporations from visiting and doing business in China. What is the possibility of us ever cutting tie with the Phillipines in the next few years and is there any legal consequences in international law preventing a nation from doing that? I am not aware of any legal treaty preventing two countries cutting off tie. Let talk...

Have you ever been down to Central in Hong Kong on any given Sunday?

Nothing but Filipino maids. It would be a truly huge exodus.

But I am in favor of it, if it will advance China's national interests. :china:

We could always hire our maids from a country that does not claim Chinese territory like the Philippines does.

No, I have never been to HK. I don't know the situation but they can hire other maids from other countries. HK offer some of the highest salary and benefit for maid in the world, so I am confident they can attract workers from other countries. However, HK is a special administrative region so they can choose what to do with the Philippines relation. This is restrict to PRC.

I think we should hire our maids from other countries instead.

We have already sanctioned the Philippines ourselves.

If the PRC breaks off relations with the Philippines, we will do the same. Our city has full autonomy in everything except Defense and Foreign relations, and this falls under the latter category.

This is China's territorial integrity at stake, it is far more important than where we get our maids from.
