here in US, you can stay in college campus and sometimes they offer you part time job. Also there are tons of scholarships and of course financial aid.

cost of living differs from every state to state and college to college and from university to university.

Dude!! for the time being don't come to US for MS/MBA since economy though recovering still there are no plenty of jobs!! its better u either keep on working or do MBA from India itself! just my 2 cents!

nah, the best idea is to do MBA in US and than do job in India.

i am sure USA degree still matters a lot in India than Indian degree. (correct me if i am wrong)

Sir, there is something called ROI (Return on Investment) good school here require like 50 lacs for 2yrs MBA and if he goes back and get even 10-15 lacs per annum job it would take him 5 yrs to return the loan or recover the money. Most students who come here in US don't want to goback soon after graduating. They want to earn money in $s

So you are saying, it's better to work here in US?

i am not saying it's bad idea. But saying that it's worth earning degree in US than in India, even thought economy is in bad shape.

Yes it's better to work in US, I have worked in both countries and liked US much better! Though India has plenty of jobs they don't require any A grade Univ degree or specialization in some specific field unlike in US!

If you are talking about NY city, depends upon how you live and where you live! most desis live in NJ such as Hobboken and share 2 bed apt with like 6 ppl, their expenses are very low, if you live in NYC easily your monthly expenses would be close to 1000 bucks even if u share ur room with someone else.

Scholarship in MBA r u kidding, best hope is getting some GA/TA in some Engg Dept! but I have heard MBA cirriculam keeps u on ur toes!

Thanks dude. But If I keep on working for next ten years also compensation will increase very little. Also I am little business minded so interested in MBA. In India there are few business schools with great opportunities and they are very very competitive. I did well in GMAT. Thats why thinking about abroad. Any further help?

if you will be coming on student visa here, than i don't think you can get financial aid from the government. however, there are scholarships that you can apply. look on website "fast web.com" this website has different scholarships and you can apply if you meet the requirements.

Also if you are really good student, depending on college, they will find another way, so you can pay off your college and graduate.

One thing is very true here in US dude. that is if you are really good in study here, than the government, most of colleges will give their best, so you can study.

you can study in college, even if you are undocumented. However, you can only go to community college which is 2 years.

About the cost, i am not sure, so i just don't want to give you imaginary number. However i am sure that it's always much cheaper if you are attending college in the same state where you live.

$ 1000 per month is lot of money for a Indian! US costs too much. Most of the business schools want ~ $ 75000 per year for two years MBA program!
