The BYD eBus-7, the only fully electric mid-size bus in the South Korean market, will operate in Udo, the largest island of Jeju Island.

The vehicle's compact 15-seater body enables it to navigate the narrow roads of this small island with ease and without producing carbon emissions. The eBus-7 can travel a minimum range of 200 kilometers on a single charge, and requires only two hours to be fully charged.

BYD has rapidly drawn the attention of South Korean officials since its market entry in 2015 with product features such as its plug-and-charge capability on its electric buses.

Last December, the company's president and founder Wang Chuanfu was among a group of industry delegates invited to attend a discussion with South Korean President Moon Jae-in during his official visit to China. Prior to the visit, BYD also welcomed a group of 60 residents from Udo – approximately five percent of the local population – to personally inspect the eBus-7 model at BYD's Shenzhen headquarters before the order was placed.

"Our track record in renewable energy reflects our mission to do something for the environment with the highest quality," said Liu Xueliang, general manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division. "Having passed South Korea's rigorous vehicle safety standards, the eBus-7 is reflective of the excellent engineering behind our vehicles which are also suitable for the fragile terrain of Udo Island. "

Tuesday's launch represented another milestone for BYD, which has gradually evolved from a rechargeable battery manufacturer to a new energy giant since its establishment in 1995. BYD's electric vehicles have a footprint in more than 200 cities worldwide.

In fact, BYD electric vehicle officially entered Japan by starting its operation in Kyoto two years ago. Before then, Chinese auto brand entering Japan was unheard-of. Its arrival in Japan also made a big splash both in public and media.

Equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, bi-directional inverting recharging & discharging technologies, wheel-hub driving system, no-key system, electronically controlled air suspension system, K9 boasts a VTOL, which is is just like a portable power station (324KWh) and provide power for external electric appliances such as refrigerators and electromagnetic ovens.

Guo Yan, the Minister at Chinese embassy to Japan, said the operation of K9 in Japan marked a new beginning for Chinese bus brands in the international market, fully demonstrating the effectiveness of vehicles made in China in combating urban air pollution and energy conservation.

“We hope that we can join hands with Japanese people in promoting greener travels among the public and helping local governments build brand new public transport systems with a high level of environmental friendliness”, said Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Sales Department. “Japan has become one of BYD’s major overseas markets along with its increasing presence in solar energy exploitation, energy storage, and electric forklifts”, Liu added.

Having delivered hundreds of thousands of electric vehicles to over 200 cities across the world, BYD is confident to provide its global customers highly reliable and more environmentally friendly passenger transport solutions.

As a pioneer in the new energy vehicle industry, it is involved in solar energy exploitation, energy storage development and new energy vehicle development. Currently, it boasts a wide spectrum of products.

Before entering Japan, K9 has passed a number of stringent tests in China, USA, and EU. As early as 2013, it gained entry certificate from the EU. One year later, it was the first electric bus in the world to pass a test in Altoona Bus Testing Center in Pennsylvania, USA. Nowadays, it has established partnerships with a number of enterprises from the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and South Africa, etc., aiming to bringing new energy vehicles into more people’s lives.(www.chinabuses.org)

. . . . . . .
Will BYD defeat Tesla in the total world market share? Will it kill Tesla eventually?

I think the market will grow big enough to accommodate more than two competitors. I am not sure how BYD would do in the future. But, BYD seems like to posit itself as the Toyota of E-vehicles rather than Lexus for now.

i am also proud of the decision made by overseas CPC secret agent.
He is really doing China more good than harm.
Remember what Bush had done to US.

In one sense, it is good that US regime attention is again turning to the Middle East. But, this also means more bloodshed there.

Don't forget our other boy from China Uncensored. He's not as high profile but doing his job

They are all great.

They are serving a function that often even themselves are unaware of.

I never wish the West getting cozy with China. Enmity and distrust all the way until absolute power advantage is achieved.
