Buzdar’s poor performance in Punjab

A few articles in the media have quoted PTI sources as saying that C.M. Punjab Buzdar has come under heavy criticism from PTI members for not performing in Punjab. Some articles are also quoting anonymous PTI politicians as demanding Buzdar’s resignation.

So my question is, can people point out specific governance failures/issues in Punjab that were not present during Shabaz’s last term as C.M. Punjab?

The reason I’m asking is that I’ve seen a lot of high profile governance failures covered by the media in Sindh - thar drought, lack of sanitation, drinking water, hospitals, lack of public transportation, unchecked increase in dog bites, HIV epidemic etc etc. I haven’t seen that kind of coverage for major governance failures in Punjab - so can members point those failures out please?

Punjab is the workhorse, truly called the heart of Pakistan. The government is failing to take initiative towards industrializing agriculture in Punjab.

There are massive concerns about the province not being used efficiently by the PTI government. There are also claims of gross negligence in financial dealings of some of the projects undertaken by the Punjab government.

That’s what I was thinking as well - is the criticism of Buzdar being driven by the various power blocks in Punjab politics who want a CM from their group or is there actual basis to the criticism of Buzdar.

Part of the problem is that Buzdar doesn’t have a charismatic personality and isn’t a ‘media darling’, but that shouldn’t be the basis on which to judge his performance.

So if I understand you correctly, the problem isn’t so much that Buzdar is making things worse, the problem is that he hasn’t pushed any major new initiatives to distinguish his governance from that of Shahbaz Sharif?

I can't comment on his performance; but a very credible source, within the government, has told that Buzdar is choice, of wife of IK, based upon some spiritual or mystical references and that is why, that in spite of many complaints, of gross incompetence, IK is very much hesitant in removing him.

He is just a rubber stamp for Jahangeer Tareen.....His I.Q probably lower than a retard....

He did nothing .... neither wrong neither bad......

A perfect un-perfect dude with having zero idea of Governance....

The performance of any government is to be measured by initiatives taken and completed which seems not to be the case with Mr. Buzdar.

Had the government delivered on the promise of " Scandinavian Model of Governance " as proclaimed hours after election it would be a different case altogether.

Also there seems to be growing frustration about the promises of new administrative units in Punjab.

We need to bury Khottaism and move into Industrialism.

But, how can one bypass, recommendations, based upon spiritual or mystical revelations, particularly, if one has a strong belief in such things.

No payments were beings issued for the projects underway which is increasing the cost
No new projects are being signed or started
Buzdar needs approval on everything from IK untill unless Buzdaar consult it with IK he won't do it anything for example the funds were not issued by Punjab government for spraying in cities to control Dengue.
He didn't went for the inauguration of Orange line train because Imran Khan was out of country

Bureaucrats are upset and against him. He is unable to take notice of the state of governance in central Punjab and bad performance of the bureaucrats in central Punjab

Array of complaints were registered at the Chief Minister office pertaining to illegal occupation of land in Gujranwala division but the Chief Minister has not taken any action even to a single complaint

Infrastructure is falling apart like 80% token or card scanning machines are out of order not working due to funds are not being released in Pindi all the escalator are out of order some of the stairs are breaking apart in many stations

The funds aren't being given for the garbage collection in Lahore and pindi 50% of the employees aren't working due to non payment of salaries

Roads are breaking apart in many areas

Health and education sectors are also in bad state

I remember Hassan Nisar saying I'm the biggest critic of Shahbaz Sharif but today i admit that if one person dies from dengue in Punjab a million person remember Shahbaz Sharif and his government.

If Buzdar stays in the Office for sure I'm 100% sure PMLN will win the General Elections in 2023 with huge margin. The members of PTI is also not very happy with buzdar

Lifafas wanted someone else to become chief minister of Punjab someone with whom they have good relations
Shahbaz sharif's focus was 1 city now funds are being spent in all cities this is the difference

Patwaris post surveys to show popularity of PTI is decreasing and as per a survey Usman buzdar is most popular CM in Pakistan
And who cares about the opinion of these patwaris and lifafas a lot of good things are happening in Punjab
Shahbaz has done nothing in 10 years except building Metros in 1 city of Punjab

That’s Buzdar’s complaint, that a lot of the slow release of funds and delays are due to lack of cooperation from the bureaucracy. That responsibility still falls on Buzdar’s shoulders. Transfer/fire bureaucrats who aren’t performing. Supposedly IK gave Buzdar the go ahead to shuffle bureaucrats as he sees fit, but I don’t know whether there will be legal implications.

PTI government is staying 5 years. All the power centers have too much invested now and too many painful reforms have been undertaken to not allow continuity.
