There was no Mumbai/Bombay before 1947?

The Portuguese named the place as Bombaim during the 16th Century, The Britisher's later named it Bombay Precedency, later it was named as Bombay state after India attained Independence. While not even a square inch of a territory was named as Pakistan before 1947, so stop comparing.

Not a square millimetre of terriotory was named Mumbai before 1995.

The article didn't mention Mumbai, but Bombay. Btw Mumbai was named after Mumbra Devi whose temple was built during the 16th century in the city. The locals called the place (in fact still call it) Mumbra and then Mumbai. Just like Dilli and Delhi or Pune and Poona. So yes the name Mumbai/Mumbra excisted much before 1947.

The name Pakistan is acronym of Punjab, Afghania, Kashmir, Sindh, Balochistan which existed for thousands of years before 1947.
