Bugatti Veyron in India on Oct 28th; Priced at Rs 12 crore
Bugatti Veyron, among the most expensive and the fastest cars on the planet, will be on sale in the Indian markets by the last week of this month, probably October 28th. The decision is inspired from the success of super luxury cars in the country which were launched earlier. The car has already attracted a couple of buyers in the country although it is expected to be priced at a whopping Rs 12 crore.
Bugatti is a part of the luxury brands owned by German carmaker Volkswagen and in India it will be distributed by Exclusive motors. They are the current distributors of Bentley and Lamborghini; the other luxury brands of Volkswagen. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 can hit the speed of 100kmph in less than 3 seconds and has crossed 430kmph to attain the highest speed of a car under regular production. The 8 liter engine gives an output 1200 Nm of power with the 64 valves fed simultaneously by four turbochargers.
The Michelin PAX run flat tires of this permanent four-wheel drive car can only be removed from the rims at the factory in France. It is equipped with an automatic seven-speed transmission with each shift carrying a time of less than 150 milliseconds. The dual clutch direct-shift gearbox of the vehicle will be controlled by a computer.
After the global economic turndown, the West is slow in regaining the momentum and the companies around the globe are interested in investing the booming economies of India and China.
As we see, in India, the number of high net-worth individuals (HNIs) has increased by almost 50% when compared to the last year. And when we know that there are super-rich Indians even waiting for the delivery of 156 private jet aircrafts, it will not be too difficult for Bugatti to market the high priced super car in the markets...
