AMRITSAR: Border Security Force (BSF) personals have recovered 18 kilogram of heroin valued at around Rs 90 crore in the international market and fake Indian currency worth nearly Rs 5 lakh near Indo-Pak border on Tuesday
BSF DIG RPS Jaiswal told TOI on Tuesday that a patrolling party of BSF deployed in the area of Rattoke in Khemkarn sector spotted some movement across the border fence and challenged the intruders following which they made escape towards Pakistan. He said during search of the area BSF recovered 19 packets including 18 packets of heroin while another packet contained fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 4, 87,000 in the denomination of Rs 1000.
No arrest on the Indian side have been made so far, however, investigations have begun as to who was to retrieve the heroine and fake Indian notes from Pak smugglers .
He informed that BSF also recovered a 10 meter plastic pipe. Pakistan smugglers had crossed over the international boundary and had reached near the border fence installed on the Indian territory , they were to insert the plastic pipe across the border fence to deliver the contrabands through pipe but before they could materialize smuggling operation they were spotted by BSF.
