AMRITSAR: A Border Security Force constable shot six bullets into a fellow constable before shooting himself dead in Bhikhiwind, Punjab.
BSF Deputy Inspector General RPS Jaswal said on Tuesday that constable Sunil and the victim constable Mahesh were posted with the 163rd Battalion of BSF in Bhikhiwind. On Monday night Sunil returned to camp from the border and shot Mahesh dead. Mahesh was on guard duty at the time.
"Right now we don't have any information whether there was any provocation from Mahesh," said Jaswal. After killing Mukesh, Sunil shot himself in the head.
Both Sunil and Mahesh were from Rewari in Haryana and had joined the force in 2007.
A preliminary investigation pointed to a love triangle but is yet to be confirmed, said sources.
