India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has decided to introduce a fresh lot of non-lethal weapons as part of its new measures to bring down civilian casualties.
It has also invited BGB to do patrolling in Indian territory along the border to see for themselves the “facts on the ground” about illegal movement of people and cattle smuggling.
The BSF authority discussed these initiatives with BGB during the recent DG level talks in Dhaka last month.
“We have proposed to the BGB to send their team to patrol with our boys on our side and see the facts on the ground. We have nothing to hide,” BSF DG Subhash Joshi told PTI news agency.
Joshi, who led the delegation at the bi-annual talks, said it had been decided to introduce more non-lethal weapons to reduce casualties.
“It is a difficult situation when we decide to arm our men with non-lethal weapons…we have also decided to work for better procedures for use of the non-lethal weapons,” he said.

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has invited Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) to patrol the border from its territory, reports Indian national daily The Hindu, quoting the Press Trust of India.
According to the report, BSF discussed the initiative with the BGB during the recent Director General (DG) level talks in Dhaka last month. BSF is reportedly concerned over the ‘menace’ of illegal crossings and cattle smuggling, which has ‘led to the death and serious injuries to its bordermen and local population’.
‘We have proposed to the BGB to send their team to patrol with our boys on our side and see the facts on ground,’ the report quotes BSF chief Subhash Joshi as saying.
‘We have nothing to hide. The illegal crossings and activities that occur in the dead of night are a challenge for us,’ he said.
‘The challenge is tough and we are committed to maintaining the sanctity of this border and hence we have gone the extra mile in suggesting such a step,’ J
oshi told PTI.
The report also says BSF decided to introduce a fresh lot of non-lethal weapons on the frontier as part of new measures to bring down civilian and security forces casualties.
‘It is a difficult situation when we decide to arm our men with non-lethal weapons...we have taken a lot of hits. Three dozen of our troopers have been injured as they were attacked by smugglers in the recent past.’
‘But we are committed to reducing causalities on the Bangla border and hence more such weapons are being sent there,’ said Joshi, who led the Indian delegation for the bi-annual talks with BGB.
The DG further claimed killings and critical injuries were going down because of non-lethal guns.
‘There were 150 killings three years back, this was reduced to 22 in the last year and this year only seven killings have taken place on this border and in our jurisdiction,’ he said.

It's an evil conspiracy by yindoos to bribe the BGB...:P

. . . .
There is nothing to prove to bgb or anyone. If illegal bdeshi are crossing into our territorry, they should be shot by bsf

. . .
Smuggling happens on both sides. If BSF has to face difficulties BGB has to face them too. Childish and lame excuse.

What is the lame excuse? Our soldiers are attacked by smugglers because they knew we are using non lethal weapons.. Why should our soldiers die for the sake of your country??

.
a good move but they have to ensure their security first.

.
LOL..there are 2 possibilities...

either BGB will be infiltrated by infidel Zionist ally RAW agents...

or,smugglers will handover their role of smuggling to BGB(to pehle check karna parega,we'll protect every cough syrup bottle by any means).. :omghaha:

Why are you using non-lethal weapons? Because if you use lethal weapons you kill both smugglers and innocent peoples like mosquitos. Why should our innocent people die for the reason that India can't provied dummy targets for shooting practise to their soldiers

.
How can BSF take such decisions on its own??? der has 2 b political sanction..Indian foreign policy is in ruins...I hope I dont have to see a day when the Rangers are invited to see for themselves the “facts on the ground” in kashmir.

.
This is a Chanakyan conspiracy to get our border patrolled by BGB at their cost!! :D
