I just came across this article. The following question specifically its answer struck me as interesting. Hopefully this has already garnered appropriate attention.

How effective is BSF’s lesser known yet high-profile G branch?

The lesser said about it, the better (smiles). It’s the intelligence wing of the BSF. It finds its genesis in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Our personnel trained the Bangladesh Mukti Vahini (freedom fighters) in the jungles of Tripura and even fought alongside them in civilian clothes. In that war, 139 BSF jawans and officers were killed. G branch collects intelligence from foreign lands. Now, it is the multi-agency centre (MAC) from where intelligence inputs are procured, and it functions with a coordinated approach.

I can't post a URL. It's on firstpost website. Google for the following:
Exclusive: Rumours of jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav's death circulated by ISI proxies, says new BSF DG KK Sharma

This is not the only confession

Do explain the meaning of the term please.

If anything, the would become exticnt by now

Highly typically ''Indian'' subjective
Deliberate attempt to eradicate/reduce population based on race, color, religion, nationality. Which is what PA did with full force and failed..

. . .
6 mn raped and how many killed ?
When PA was approx 45,000 how could they have raped 6mn?

Secondly, the fertility rate was around 20% in those days, so that would mean 1.2m offsprings of dubious parenthood??
http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SP.ADO.TFRT

Even with Nuke that Us used on hiroshima there was a count. Are you stupiduly suggesting me that we did more than that ?
He is proving irrespective of where he goes, his IQ will remain in single digits

During that they were killing, rampaging and what not.

Stupid Bhratis trolls think that just because 0 was invented in sub-continent, they can use it on PA so called killings

The exact figures will always remain in question because the Bangladeshis have done such an idiotic job themselves of counting the deaths and atrocities.

There was a ghastly massacre, no doubt. Millions of refugees in India and millions more internally displaced will testify to that. People just don't leave everything behind and cross a border just to provide a cover to others' lies.

However, for the sake of accuracy, I can concede that we don't know the precise figures. But the lower estimate would still be abhorrent.

IMO, the way to mend bridges with Bangladeshis would be to simply apologize and move on - the fact is that there are many more Bangladeshis who view Pakistan favourably than India, so that is not a tough ask. Please don't enter into these endless debates about how many died and were raped and trivialize those immense sufferings.

Just a sincere request.

Bangladeshis rights were rejected that is very true. No one can deny it and no one should either.

As for displaced people ofc, they would get displaced, just see how many of them have displaced in syrian war and what not. But blowing things out of proportion will only make matter worse. Using this Incident to Kill and subjugate opponent, Bangla govt is doing a very fine job in tarnishing its credibility.

With India, too involved, one cannot rule out the possibility that they wouldnt have killed the Pakistani supporting Bengalis.

It was bad chapter indeed, Where ZAB the loser didnt give them their due rights and the cost was borne by entire nation.
