Brothers in Arms : Why an Indian stands with Israel I wouldn’t write to you today, if I didn’t feel

About the social media there are a lot more Indians on twitter than on PDF....
Ok maybe your support for Israel doesnot have anything to do with its enemies being Muslim countries but i stand by my views on what i observed...
anti-semtiism in the arab world is due to the conditions related to the creation of the Israeli state

No, anti semitism is rooted in the religionS and culture and history as well. (And that applies both ways - there are ancient enemities from all sides.)

I don't have to quote you the anti semitic verses in the Quran, which I'm sure you know was written before the creation of the Israeli state in 1948. Christians were anti semitic to an even greater extent and persecuted jews for 2000 years, the culmination of which was the holocaust. And yes, Israel has unnecessary blood on its hands as well.

The only point is that the conflicts there are not one sided, and even predate islam. Ancient Arab-Persian hostilities are still manifest today as shia-sunni conflicts, ancient tribal conflicts got a religious tinge later. The semitic and non semitic tribes there have been at war for most of history.

1400 years 'as guests'. When it comes to civilizations 1400 years is nothing. As per Christians everywhere in the world Rome is the centre of their religion now so that logic does not count. In any case neither have the Jews denied Christians their claims nor Christians have said that jews have kept them out. But Jews is the fist claim since theirs is a more ancient claim. The Christians accept it as such too. (Jesus himself was a Jew)
yes 1400 yrs is nothing and those Europeans should be kicked out the American continent after all it has only been 400 yrs...
Rome is the center of the catholic church and about Israel's relations with christians ever heard of Palestinian Christians...
lets end this you support Israel i get it

As ancient hindu scriptures say, "Lokaah samastaa sukhino bhavantu." - may the whole world live in harmony.

Not just "my community is a brotherhood against everybody else."

Height of stupidity is even in this century they could not understand true brotherhood for all mankind n still harping on false n selective ummah brotherhood.. if one wants to claim a global citizens he will have to rise above all division n follow true human cause n mandate in 21st century....

I'm one of those who thought settling European Jews in Palestine in the early to middle parts of the last century was not really fair. However that is now history. The world has changed & one must move on. I understand (don't think it productive though) Palestinians who were, and still are affected by this continuing to rake it up but it makes no sense for anyone else to be using that as a reason for hating the current state of Israel. Israel is a state like Pakistan, one whose creation is religion based. While most Pakistanis didn't move, the logic that was stated essentially made Pakistanis home for Muslims of undivided India even if they had never set foot on the land that became Pakistan before the act of partition. Pretty much like Israel.

I don't have the knowledge to explain or reply to you about the context of any Quranic verses sadly so can't help you there...
about history Jews were well treated in Moorish Spain and also were offered refuge during the Spanish inquisition in the Ottoman empire...
hopefully an end to this conflict is a two-state solution based on the 67 borders

Modi meets members of Jewish community in New York

Seeing the importance and shared values with Israel and a centuries-old tradition of Jewish people living in peace and harmony, PM Modi made it a point to meet with a delegation of Jewish leaders during his recent trip to America.

The strong Jewish lobby in America dictates much of US foreign policy.

You know what I truly think?
You know in your mind you'll never allow Mecca/ Medina in anyone's hands other than muslims. Yet when I make the same reference to Jerusalem you will not accept it. It comes out a sense of historically warped hypocrisy. The true importance of Jerusalem probably emerged when the Prophet saw it in his vision where he meets all the other Prophets in Jerusalem. That's the religious significance of the place. When ISlam was on the rise, the conquest of Jerusalem because of these reasons was prominent- another Jewel in the Islamic crown. Partially because the Jews did not operate as a martial group then, it was easy and you took it.

That act was ALWAYS destined to be opposed. While the jews were not organized then, there was another Abrahamic religion which did try to wrest back the land. And that's how the crusades happened. They may have faled, but like I said in civilizational logic, the attempt to reclaim the sacred land will NEVER stop and the determined effeorts to create Israel just proves that even 1400 years later the effort continued. For most of Islamic history the jews were never considered a threat. They were 'shady merchants', pansies and cowards. But 20th century holocaust makes them reinvent themselves- tough soldiers, farmers and political leaders. Unlike your grandparents you can no longer call them 'behind the scenes blood-sucking merchants and usurers'. Your own kind has been battered by their valor and courage. It is the old stereotype that is making you use words like 'legitimacy' and not give Jerusalem the place of significance it should otherwise get for their religion. But then they aren't concerned. This really is the jewish civilization re-asserting itself. You can't do anything. The same way I can't do anything about what you guys do in Mecca. To the muslims Jerusalem might be of importance because the Prohet flew there in his Vision, but as far as the jews are concerned, it's of no consequence, he might as well have flown to Paris or New York.

the difference is local population was not displaced for the creation of the state...saying this Israel is a reality and a two-state solution on the 67 border must be achieved

You see this as a religious conflict. Period.

There was displacement even for the creation of Pakistan. On religious grounds. In actual terms, a much higher figure than in Palestine. Also, far more blood letting.

.
If killing muslims was criteria, then Pakistan would be our favourite for killing muslim in Bangladesh, Balochistan, FATA, Afghanistan and even in Palestine

I see this as a CIVILIATIONAL conflict. Tell me man, does your heart ache this much when you think about the fact that Spain went out of the Islamic fold? But when it comes to tiny little Jerusalem you guys are willing to fight the crusaders right down to the Jews. This isn't some 20th century conflict. Jerusalem and the lands around it have ALWAYS been fought over. And guess what? The jews were there first, and it's their civilization.

Yeah right. Anti-Semiticism exists in the world specifically because Jews didn't create a state for themselves. For most of past history it's been possible for you to (and Christians too BTW) to call them blood-sucking usurers. It has nothing to do with conditions behind the creation of the Israeli sate.
