British Prime Minister Theresa May telephoned on Tuesday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, assuring United Kingdom’s cooperation in the post-Brexit era.

“There will be no adverse effects on the bilateral relations after Great Britain exits the EU,” Radio Pakistan quoted May as saying.

“Pakistan and the UK will work together as bilateral partners. Great Britain is committed to work with Pakistan in security related matters and strengthening democracy,” she said.

Stop dreaming about Kashmir joining Pakistan, Sushma tells Nawaz

May said the UK strongly supported the democratic system of Pakistan, adding the latter’s development and democracy were interlinked.

She also expressed her desire to visit Pakistan in coming months in the capacity of the British prime minister.

Nawaz also congratulated Britain’s second woman prime minister on her ‘historic appointment’.

“Theresa May’s appointment reflects the faith and confidence the people of UK have reposed in her ability to steer the country at this historic time,” the prime minister said.

. . . . . .
So what exactly did the British Pm assured?
Support on Kashmir? No
Support on NSG? No
Support on continuing this corruption under the mask of democracy? Yes
So we can all assume what the call was meant for? It wasnt for Pakistan but Nawaz Sharif.

Faith and confidence; she was not elected!! All it reflects is the faith and confidence of the Tory party.

.
This won't help her with the current leadership but I believe she was introduced to her husband by Benazir Bhutto while they were classmates.

If they really friends of Pakistani people, then return all stolen money in British banks. Otherwise British equally responsible for corruption in Pakistan as any other country like Dubai etc

The primary support that May is acknowledging is the financial aid that Pakistan receives to promote education, fight poverty as well as to combat illegal drug trade.
We contribute a significant part to Pakistan's ability to develop with nearly £300 million help per year. So, May is basically saying that even though Britain will see an economic downturn (in the wake of Brexit), assistance to Pakistan is of an importance that cannot be skimmed.

In addition to this, Britain is busy forging new economic agreements with a number of countries to shore up the economy after it leaves the EU. The focus will be on it's previous colonies especially India, Pakistan, Bangladesh as well as China and the U.S.
