HORROR: Crowds gather at the scene of the explosions

The Foreign Office advise Brits to be wary of terror attacks in the country.

It says on its website: "Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Indonesia.

"Terrorist groups continue to plan attacks and have the capacity and intent to carry out these attacks at anytime and anywhere in the country."

It adds: "Types of attacks have included suicide bombing and small-arms fire, targeting public and crowded places.

"The threat from Islamist extremism remains high, though the Indonesian authorities continue to disrupt attack planning, including arresting alleged terrorists reportedly in the advanced stages of preparation."

RIP to innocent loss of life .. We Muslims need to take harder measures to crush the Terrorism ..

I just don't understand their logic, why they do something terrible like this

Very simple logic, Iraq and Afghanistan war. I was one of the stop the war coalition demonstrators in 2002 and speaker after speaker said that the chickens will come home to roost and that's what's happened sadly. British foreign policy is the reason, why else before 7/7 2005 terror attacks not a single muslim terror attack in the UK

Rip
Terrorism has became the biggest threat to human being, needed to be eliminate at all cost
We should all condemn those who justify "Terrorism" under the cover of religions since "Terrorism has no religion to begin with period"

I just don't understand their logic, why they do something terrible like this
I don't understand the terrorist's logic either... why they targeted this relatively low value (yet easy) target?

What message to convey by targeting the public transport and ordinary people???

I can only think that their objectives are:
- to create panic, destabilization, terror etc to disturb the current govt
- to increase the country risk, when the Wall Street-controlled major rating agencies (Standard & Poor's (S&P), Warren Buffet owned Moody's, and Fitch Group) lower the country rating of INA, the investors may ask for some premium in return, milking the debt issuing country... may also affect the stock exchange giving way to vulture exploit (by folks like Soros)
- to create additional economic pressure to put the blame and bad performance to the ruling govt in preparation for next election (smear the candidate trick), a slowly boiling tactic to make life worsening in all aspects putting the accumulated failure on the current govt
- and perhaps to stimulate the chain-reactions... to encourage other terrorist breed to do the same
- or purely accident, wrong target

This kind of treacherous act just gives credit to the article written by Alan Nairn as posted here.

Yes, I cannot Understand those animal logic.
Why they targeting Ordinary people?? Who go to office in the morning, and trying to come home in the night to meet their family after tired hours in office.

Why those animal targeting them ?!
And I believe it's not wrong target, because there is 2 Coordinated Explosions between each other.

After the first bomb explode, the police come to location to help victims.
and then the second bomb explode, and wounded some police in location.

Jakarta explosions: Two dead in suspected suicide bombing near bus station

  • 49 reading now
Jakarta: Grisly images of scattered body parts were being circulated online after a suspected suicide bomb attack at a bus stop in East Jakarta on Wednesday night.

Deputy national police chief Syafruddin said on Metro TV the suspected perpetrator and a police officer had been killed and four policemen injured. National police spokesman Setyo Wasisto said five civilians had also been injured.
  • Two explosions, a few minutes apart, occurred at a Trans Jakarta bus stop near the Kampung Melayu terminal in East Jakarta around 9pm local time. The explosions took place at the bus stop and a nearby toilet.

Mr Syafruddin said no-one had yet claimed responsibility for the alleged attack.

"At the moment we are processing the information coming in," he said. "We will provide further information whether this is a terrorist attack or not."

Mr Syafruddin said body parts, including a decapitated head and arms had been found.

He said it was a global phenomenon that police officers were being targeted and urged the public to notify police of any suspicious activity.

Mr Syafruddin, who was at the scene, said the type of bomb was still being investigated.

He said that based on information from Indonesia's special forces counter-terrorism unit Detachment 88 the body parts are suspected to belong to the perpetrator.

TV One is reporting a bomb squad, including dogs, are searching the area for other possible bombs.

Eight people were killed - including four militants - in a terror attack on January 14, 2016 in front of the Sarinah department store in central Jakarta.

In December last year Indonesia's police chief Tito Karnavian attributed a sharp rise in the number of alleged terrorists handled by his force to the influence of Islamic State and the defeats it is experiencing in the Middle East.

The number of alleged terrorists dealt with by Indonesian police in 2016 was more than double the previous year, as IS encouraged terror cells to carry out attacks beyond Syria.

Mr Karnavian revealed there had been 170 alleged terrorists processed by police in 2016, compared to only 82 in 2015.

happened almost at the same time with Philippine ISIS uprising and Manchester attack, seems it had been orchestrated by the same organizations

Crazy, starting to look like a coordinated global wave now, it could hit anywhere next.

East Jakarta suicide bombers linked to ISIS: Indonesia police

JAKARTA - The two suspects who killed three policemen at a bus terminal in East Jakarta on Wednesday (May 24) night in a suicide-bombing had ties to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the police said on Thursday (May 25).

Police spokesmen told a briefing the militants, who were killed in the twin blasts, had links to ISIS, and the bombs they used were low-grade explosives similar to the type used in a February attack in Bandung which was also linked to ISIS.

Suspected suicide bombers kill 3 police officers, wound 10 in Jakarta
The first bomb was detonated outside a public toilet late on Wednesday, and the second near a bus stop some 10 metres away, police spokesman Inspector-General Setyo told reporters.

Police found an invoice dated May 22 from a store in Padalarang, West Java, for the purchase of a pressure cooker at the site, he said, as well as aluminum plates, nails, ball bearings, cable-switcher, and other bomb-making materials.

Insp-Gen Setyo said the attack is similar to the Bandung one, which was launched by a lone militant whom authorities suspected of having links to a radical network sympathetic to ISIS.

Earlier on Thursday a police source had told The Straits Times the Jakarta attackers were also linked to extremists in Poso, Central Sulawesi.

The source identified the first suspect as Solihin, an administrative staff at the Darul Anshor, an Islamic boarding school in Poso, and the other as Ichwan Nurul Salam, a 34-year-old man from Bandung, West Java.

Police are still verifying the personal information of the alleged attackers, the source added.

President Joko Widodo condemned the attack on Thursday.

"This is execrable. Ojek (motorcycle taxi) driver fell victim, public minivan driver, store sellers, as well as policemen," Mr Joko told reporters in his hometown in Central Java, referring to the three slain police officers and 11 others injured, the presidential palace said in a statement.

The number of injured was previously given as 10.

While the police believe the suspects had ties to extremists in Central Sulawesi, counter-terrorism investigators are trying to establish if they were also linked to the remnants of the East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) militant group which operates out of Poso.

The MIT is behind several terror attacks in Indonesia since 2012, including skirmishes with security forces during which police officers and people in Central Sulawesi were killed.

MIT leader Santoso, also known as Abu Wardah, and another MIT combatant, were killed in the fire-fight last year. Santoso and his men from MIT had pledged allegiance to Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Three Indonesian policemen were killed and five other officers were injured after the two suspects allegedly set off what was believed to be a pressure cooker bomb near a bus terminal in Kampung Melayu, in East Jakarta, at about 9pm local time on Wednesday.

It appeared that the bombing followed a similar pattern of attack by domestic militants targeting local police officers in Indonesia.

The policemen had assembled to escort a scheduled parade organised by a community group in the neighbourhood when the explosion was heard, said the police.

It also came just three days before the Muslim fasting month begins on Saturday.

On July 5 last year, just days before fasting month was to end, a suicide bomber on a motorcycle blew himself up after he was stopped by officers from entering the local police headquarters in Solo city.

The bomber had used low-grade explosives in the homemade bomb, which like most improvised explosive devices (IEDs), contained ball-bearings and screws, and was trying to attack the policemen as they reported for their shift.

Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim-majority country, has long struggled with Islamic militancy. Hundreds of radicals from the South-east Asian state have flocked to Syria to fight with ISIS, sparking fears that weakened extremist outfits could get a new lease of life.
