Kailash Satyarthi (born 11 January 1954) is an Indian children's rights activist and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. He has been active in the Indian movement against child labour since the 1990s. So far his organization, Bachpan Bachao Andolan, has freed over 80,000 children from various forms of servitude and helped in successful re-integration, rehabilitation and education.
He is largely accredited for enactment and adoption of national and international legislations, treaties and conventions as well as the constitutional amendment on child labour and education.

Satyarthi lives in New Delhi, India. His family includes his wife, daughter, son and a daughter in-law along with colleagues and umpteen number of children that he and his organization have rescued.

An Indian and a Pakistani sharing the Nobel peace prize?:woot: Who would have thought!

I've lost all respect for the Nobel peace prize, due to the inexplicable list of recent recepients, including Obama for god knows what. But in this case, I think the award is richly deserved, so congrats to both.

Firing on Border..and nobel prize for peace .what a irony.....any way Congratulation.....for both countries..

Please tell us how Mr Satyarthi's win is political in nature? If it isn't, what is the need for the unnecessary comment and emoticons? And why "still"?

He was probably referring to the Nobel Peace Prize conferred to Barack Obama - The Peace Prize Committee did lose much of it's credibility after that controversial decision.

All I wanna say and so is LOL

Indeed ...it is true that Nobel Peace Prize has been used for subtle political messaging.

He was probably referring not to Obama but the Chinese dissident who was awarded Nobel prize ...

They have trolled us, in a sense.

On Topic- Congrats to both of them.

But it would be even better if an Indian gets nobel for scientific research.
