Kuwait has decided to shut down Iran’s cultural attaché office in the country and reduce the number of Iranian diplomats.

The reason - Tehran’s alleged ties with a “terrorist group” plotting attacks against the Arabian Gulf state, Arab media outlets reported.

The Arab media suggested that the decision came after 14 suspects linked to the outlawed group namely “Abdali cell” fled to Iran.

Kuwaiti judiciary had earlier charged 25 of its Shia nationals and an Iranian with spying for Tehran and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.

A long over-due step to combat the Iranian spread of terrorism in the region, but better late than nothing.

People blame Israel or America as the biggest destabilizer in the ME region but iran is by far, second to none, the biggest destabilizer. The ayatollah is still upset over the Rashidun caliphate it seems!

There is competition between Iran and al-Jazeera
Al-Jazeera led, but Iran overtook it

This is obvious menovere to isolate iran for the sacrafice usa has been busy trying to find ways to break this region and thier middle eastern puppets are taking thier orders, from top down topolgy.

Long overdue indeed.

Now the old and childless Sultan of Oman has to pass away before the area is cleaned. Tiny Qatar (US military base) will come to their senses very soon. If not they will be forced to.

What is Kuwait importing from Iran anyway? Pistachios, carpets and cheap labour? Trojan horses obviously.

A death penalty for allegiance to that regime everywhere in the GCC and the entire Arab world (sadly not possibly currently in Syria and Iraq) should be given automatically and the sentence should be carried out within 24 hours. In public. Deportation of family members (if proven compliant) and confiscation of all assets should follow.

If people like me were in power all troublemakers would have been dealt with within a few months one way or another.

Iranian Arabs are treated as trash in Iran despite living in the richest and most historic (Al-Ahwaz) areas of Iran while a country like the UAE is hosting a large Iranian diaspora (second largest in the world in fact). What kind of joke is this? 50.000 or so expats in Kuwait too. Baffles the mind.

Is anyone going to believe that those people's interests lie in the country's of residence? How many spies need to be caught and sentenced or deported before the leaders wake up? There are 500 million + Arabs. Our diaspora is almost as large as the entire Iranian population in Iran and worldwide combined. Why can't we welcome all the many peoples that we have close ties to? Not even fellow Arabs. Especially in times like those.

I rather welcome expats from Paraguay or Bolivia than a hostile population (currently). Mongols. Nigerians. Whatever. If it is really necessary in the small GCC states.

I don't care if Iran is a direct neighbor and that we have close historical ties overall throughout the millennia. Or that people have ties on both sides of the pond. We can't afford to shot ourselves in the foot constantly in a situation like this. Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Southern Lebanon. How many more proofs do those stupid leaders need before they wake up?

At least if the Iranian regime was treating Iranian Arabs well, I would be inclined to do the same (which is in fact the case in the GCC) but that is not even the case.

Saddam Hussein might have been crazy at times but he sure as hell knew (rightly so) who the enemy regimes were/are. All what he said turned out to be true.

The Iranian community in Dubai (which is relatively large) is quite concerning too. I hope the UAE leadership will consider a civilized way of gradually reducing the number of Iranian residents there. Examples include sharp rise in visa fees, prolonging visa issuance/renewal time, random rejection cases of visa approval for security suspicion...etc. It could also include so many bureaucratic measures on the receipt and dispatch of money from and to Iran in strict implementation of anti-money laundering, and anti-terror laws.

I don't think so it is happening soon..keeping in view Iran is the 3rd or 4th largest trading partner of Iran...correct me if am wrong ....What you are suggesting can only be done once the relationship at trade level decreased too..
This could be very easy for Kuwait and Bahrain ...
Qatar is also close to Iran and taking a different line i believe due to there economic reason..Though i believe and agree UAE on geopolitics is aligned with KSA ..

Perhaps you are right. But the UAE is more than capable of finding a better trading partner than Iran. Keep in mind also that the sanctions played a role in increasing the trading between the UAE and Iran as Dubai was shomhow the breathing point for Iranians.
